6 Ways To Improve Gas Mileage Right Now!

By Lee Allen

1. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Under-inflated tires take considerably more energy to move your car. Check your tire pressure every time you fill up - it doesn't cost anything extra.

2. Check tire alignment. Tires that aren't in alignment make your engine work harder, which means burning more gas. Check your tires alignment every 6 to 9 months.

3. Brakes. Have your brakes checked and aligned, at least every six to nine months. Inefficient, or poorly aligned brakes make braking less efficient and reduce overall mileage.

4. Tune your engine. A poorly tuned engine uses more gas, plain and simple. Have your engine's timing checked, and replace worn or dirty spark plugs.

5. Spend less time idling. You are getting no miles per gallon while you are idling. Although it takes more gas when you start your car, if you will be idling more than 30 seconds it is better to shut off your engine.

6. Improve your driving habits. Learn to accelerate less, do your errands during off-peak times when there is less traffic, think ahead and combine trips whenever possible. Avoid congestion, and especially stop and go traffic.

These are some of the ways to improve gas mileage. Websites like gasforlessmoney.com list many more easy and practical gas-saving tips. Keep in mind that gas mileage improvement of 10% becomes a savings of $5-$10 when you fill up!

How To Make Your Family Christmas Basket Stand Out

By Laurie Geerlings

Holiday Gift baskets are fun to create and are a great gift for family and friends. You can make your own basket easily and inexpensively. You select the items and the budget, keeping the receivers personality in mind. A personalized gift shows loving thought and can make a memory that lasts for a life time.

When imagining your basket, remember you can actually use any type of container you wish. It does not have to be a basket. Think of a container that not only is attractive to the eye but can also be useful after the gifts are removed. Some examples are a large serving bowl, a flower pot, or a decorated tote bag. These are all wonderful choices and add something extra to your present. Try to choose your container based on the them of the items you are placing in it.

There are many different directions you can choose to go with your basket. Food seems to be one of the most popular and always a safe choice. When we think of the holidays, we imagine lots of yummy treats. Do not limit yourself to only the fruit baskets. Be creative by using muffins, decadent chocolates, or flavored hot cocoa mixes. There is an overwhelming amount of choices out there. Remember you also do not have to limit yourself to only one product either. You can nicely mix and match while keeping in mind your recipients likes and dislikes.

When finalizing the design of the basket, you can use a few different items to add a touch of design class to the items to make the contents look more festive. Many people use colorful seasonal ribbons and crepe papers to line the bottom of the baskets to make the items within look better. A colorful wrap around the basket, whether you use a shrink wrap to seal the contents or some other material to cover the outside, can also add some charm to the gift basket.

Baskets given as holiday presents can be colored to reflect the recipient and not necessarily have the typical red and green or white and blue color schemes associated with the season. If the recipient has a favorite color scheme, that can be reflected in the contents and the adornments on the basket. If the basket is being made as a corporate offering, the colors can reflect a company's logo colors.

Handcrafted holiday gift baskets are the perfect present for families, adults, senior citizens, teens, kids and pets. They are appreciated by teachers, co-workers, bosses and clients. Since they are personalized especially for them, you cannot go wrong by making a memorable presentation designed for that special person in your life.

If you're looking for a great holiday gift idea that can allow you to give something out of the ordinary and something that has a more individualized feel behind it than a typical item, consider giving a basket. They are easy to assemble, customize, are able to be created in any color and size, and can be a unique way to show those around that you appreciate them come Christmas time.

Travel Insurance

By Roc Selly

Buying travel insurance can be simple, if you know what to do. When you purchase your travel insurance remember that the policy wording can be very involved and specific and underwriters have the right to refuse payment if your policy does not cover even a single aspect of your insurance claim. You need to know to what extent you are covered and rest assured that your policy wording can also be your best friend in times of doubt. Examples of mistakes that might render you unworthy of a claim include having a different name on your travel documents to those on your passport (for example if you still have your passport in your maiden name and have booked your flight in your married name); not getting a police report at the scene of a crime; injury incurred while under the influence of alcohol and leaving baggage unattended in a case of theft.

Examples of mistakes that might render you unworthy of a claim include having a different name on your travel documents to those on your passport (eg. if you still have your passport in your maiden name and have booked your flight in your married name); not getting a police report to back up your claim; injury incurred while under the influence of alcohol and leaving baggage unattended in a case of theft.

More important than getting your travel insurance is making sure that you purchase a suitable policy and you understand exactly what is and is not covered in your policy. Do not hesitate to voice any queries to your travel insurance broker and always read your policy wording carefully before purchasing your travel insurance. You will find many reviews online written by holiday makers who have lost money because they either didn't have travel insurance or they neglected to familiarise themselves with the fine print on their policy meaning they thought they were covered in certain situations when in fact they were not.

Aside from loss and damage, a very important factor of your travel insurance to remember is the medical insurance that comes with it. Without adequate medical travel insurance you will be liable to pay for any doctor's appointments you have whilst on holiday and in some countries this alone can end up costing hundreds of dollars. If you happen to need further medical care or, as in extreme cases, need repatriation, you are then looking at fronting thousands of dollars if you don't have travel insurance.

Travel Insurance today is affordable and reassuring but the traveler must take time to understand what they have purchased. It is liberating to know that, just in case you're out of luck, most traumatic events while travelling can be remedied or assisted by the cover you purchase before you leave. This far outweighs the disappointment of wishing you had spent a little extra on travel insurance.

Metrolink - The Metrolink has been running since April 1992 and has now become one of the quickest methods of getting in and out of Manchester and across the city centre. In the city centre there are seven tram stops including two at major railway stations, Victoria and Piccadilly, providing fast transport links to the rest of the country. The trams run regularly and are very quick to get into the centre with the longest journey being the tram from Bury to Manchester which only takes 25 minutes. The trams also provide a quick link to those who arrive at Piccadilly or Victoria stations and need to travel across town to get to the other to carry on their journey.

Bus - Manchester has several major bus station situated on Chorlton Street, Shudehill Interchange and Piccadilly gardens. These are all situated within walking distance to Manchester's two major railway stations, Piccadilly and Victoria. All three bus stations are also very close to a Metro stop. Manchester runs a series of free buses which people can jump on and off at any designated stop and Manchester features a series of bus lanes on roads in and out of the city to assist the buses in keeping on time.

Train - Manchester Piccadilly station is the busiest major station outside London in England for passenger use and handles over 83,000 passengers every day. Manchester train network has links with every major town and city in the country providing a service to wherever you need to go. Piccadilly's main link is with London Euston with a journey time of two and a half hours.

The airport has good train and bus links with the city centre meaning people can quickly get from the airport to the centre, this is very useful for those who are attending meetings in the city centre

As you can see above, Manchester's transport network is very well linked together with many interchanges to assist passengers go from one type of transport to the other quickly so they can continue their journey with a minimum of disruption.

Manchester does have a series of proposed changes and improvements to the current transport network. Mainly the tram network is going to be extended so it reaches more towns in Greater Manchester and also will extend to the airport bringing another valuable link to help people get where they need to go quicker. Also planned is an increase in the amount of trams which run along the lines with new trams being bought to run alongside the existing ones to bring the total of trams to over 100.

The train network is also going to see improvements with more carriages on a lot of services during peak times. Also stations will get new indicator boards to give better information to passengers so there is no confusion over where the train arriving is going to and when it will arrive.

Traveling Overseas? Watch out for These Fees from Your Car Rental

By Amy Nutt

When you travel abroad you will face a lot of different fees from different places. Taxes are going to be different, you will pay additional security fees for your airfare, and you will even pay fees to exchange your money! One place you can save money on these fees, however, is with the car rental company, or car hire company as they are known in Europe. When you are renting a car overseas, watch out for these common fees, and don?t pay them if you don?t need to!

Service Fee for Booking at the Counter

When you are traveling overseas, make sure you book your car rental early. Even if you do it the night before you need the car, you will save money. Renting the car from the counter will always cost more, and sometimes quite a bit more. Call the car hire company before you need the car to reserve one, or use the Internet to make your booking.

Also, try to make your arrangements before you leave America. You will find that this saves you money, as you will not have to worry about exchange rates or contracts written in a foreign language. Remember, if you sign a contract that has hidden fees or clauses in it, you are bound to pay those fees of follow those clauses. When you do your car rental booking in the States, you will be given a contract in English.

Late Return Charges

Late return charges are a common fee that car hire companies charge, yet this one is quite easy to avoid. Find out the specific time that you need to return the car. This will be different with each company. Some will start your rental day at the time you rent the car, while others have a specific hour that they expect cars to be returned. Even if you return the car on the right day, if it is returned at the wrong time you will be charged a late return fee. This can be as much as a full day?s rental, even if the car is just an hour late.

Gas Charges

Like car rental companies in the United States, car hire companies overseas will usually charge a gas charge. Find out if you can return the car on full to avoid this charge. The car rental company is going to charge more for the gas than you will pay at the fuel station. This gas charge may not be thoroughly explained to you when you pick up the car, so make sure you ask about it. Remember, once the car hire company has your credit card, you can be charged any fees outlined in the contract, even if they do not explain the fee to you verbally.

Consider Driving a Stick

In Europe, manual transmissions are more common than automatic transmissions. If you need to rent an automatic, you will pay an additional fee. If you know how to drive a stick shift, you should use one to save money on the car rental.

Have Drivers Who Are the Right Age

Most car hire companies will charge an additional fee for young or old drivers. Those who are under 25 or over 70 will cost more as drivers on your rental agreement. To avoid this fee, try to have someone in your group who is between 25 and 70 to serve as the driver. Additionally, you will pay a fee if you add more than one driver to the contract.

Renting a car overseas requires a bit of planning ahead and some research, but it can be a fairly pleasant experience. Make sure you know what fees to watch for, avoid them when possible, and rent the car that you need to enjoy your trip. Soon you will be on the road exploring the country of your choice in a comfortable, and affordable, rental car.

The Isle of Harris and Tweed

By Angus Macleod

Scotland is only a small country in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. For much of it's history the nation and it's people have been incredibly poor but from this impoverished society some of the most influential people came forth to make their mark upon our world. There are few countries in the world that have not been directly influenced by the hands of the Scottish but few consider this when asked to think of Scotland and most of us would rather bring to mind the likes of Tartan and Harris Tweed.

Strangely much of what we consider to be traditionally Scottish, such as Harris Tweed and tartan is something of a Victorian invention created by the likes of Sir Walter Scott. Scott wrote incredible novels which romanticized Scotland and went to great lengths to introduce the British Royal Family to the country they ruled. Queen Victoria fell in love with Scotland and spent much of her life at Balmoral. Throughout her rule new tartan patterns were developed and much of the traditional Scotland we know today grew from this time.

It could be said that Sir Walter Scott and Queen Victoria created the Scottish tourism industry. Although there had been earlier visitors to Scotland they were few and far between as the country was remote and communication links were poor. Throughout the Victorian period interest in Scotland grew and, with the advent of railway systems, Scotland became the playground of the upper classes who indulged in hunting, fishing and golf.

While virtually all of the Victorian tourists wore Harris Tweed few visited the island which produced it. The Isle of Harris is a remote island in the Outer Hebrides and it was there, in 1844 that, under instruction of the Earl of Dunmore, the local weavers first produced the incredibly hard wearing material. Such were the qualities of the cloth, and the promotional work of Lady Dunmore, that it quickly became the height of fashion.

Hand made from local wool and colored using unique natural dyes there were few other materials that could compete. However it was not to last as cheaper materials became available from abroad. At an early stage the weavers of Harris ensured that only cloth produced in the Outer Hebrides could bear the name "Harris Tweed" and this has meant that the material is still produced today.

In many ways Harris Tweed has remained a popular material with many and the typical Harris Tweed jacket still sells extremely well. In recent years use of the material has diversified greatly and has been used in high fashion on a number of occasions. It is now possible to find a wide selection of product made from it and companies, such as Nike, have recognized it's qualities and used it in their products.

While depopulation continues to be a problem in the Hebrides much has been done to stimulate industry. Today one of the most important industries is the tourist trade which continues to grow year by year and is now a major element in the local economy. Crofting and the weaving of Harris Tweed continue to have a role but, unfortunately, the tweed industry suffered a major set back with the closure of the main mill. While the future of the industry is uncertain it is likely that there will be an enormous effort to regenerate it.

There is plenty to attract the visitor to the Isle of Harris, the rich Gaelic culture, the incredible number of archaeological sites, the unique flora and fauna and, last but not least, some of the most astounding landscapes to be seen in Scotland and the United Kingdom. Getting there is now easier than ever and while there are airports most travel by road across to the Isle of Skye and then by ferry to the village of Tarbert or Lochmaddy in Uist.

Tips For Finding A Great Darth Vader Costume For Halloween

By Phil Sikes

Star Wars fanatics come in all shapes and sizes. Opening night of a Star Wars movie at any theater is always a huge event where all kinds of fans come dressed up as their favorite characters. After having waited in line for days just to get into the cinemas, fans don costumes of Darth Vader or Storm Troopers and can easily be spotted in the crowd.

Darth Vader costumes tend to be designed for those fans truly obsessed with the world of Star Wars. That's because they are not easy to arrange and tend to be very difficult to both put on and take off.

For the majority of true Star Wars fans, becoming Darth Vader by means of a realistic, high-tech costume has been a childhood fantasy, complete with dreams of battles with light sabers against the Jedi knights.

Although such imaginative fantasies tend to dissipate as fans grow older, they would still probably love to suit up in a fancy, well detailed Vader costume. For fans that don't make trips to Star Wars conventions, Halloween is the best time and excuse to become Darth Vader.

If you're thinking of a Darth Vader costume for Halloween this year, it's time to get on the ball. The big night isn't far away, and the best costumes get harder to find as you get closer to the night.

Many Internet costume shops offer great Darth Vader costumes and will gladly ship your order until just a few days before Halloween. Waiting until the last moment, however, might mean that your dream costume has been sold out.

The Internet will be the best place to find your costume if there are not professional costume shops in your area. Online shops also have a better selection. Department and drug stores don't offer the high quality costumes that diehard Vader fans are looking for.

And the great thing about Darth Vader is it doesn't matter who you are - male or female, young or old. It's a full body suit and mask so nobody even needs to know who's under there if you don't want them to. Just be prepared for a lot of heavy breathing and "I am your father" quotes!

Hiking - Positives Outweigh the Negatives

By Clinton Maxwell

Are you thinking about taking up the challenging and exhilarating activity of hiking? It is surely something that's rewarding but it?s hard to know what to expect if you?ve never tried it. Here are some things to expect and some myths about hiking.

Many people think of the negatives that are associated with hiking. There are insects, blisters on your feet, sore legs and an aching back. While this may sound unpleasant, there are many rewards which outweigh these drawbacks. You?ll be able to get outside the city and enjoy the fresh air and the chance to commune with nature. Not only will you be able to get physical exercise but you?ll also have some solitude to gain mental release. Having a hiking a buddy will also give you time to connect with a friend or a relative (or make new friends).

There are some myths or misguided thoughts associated with hiking. Some confuse hiking with mountain climbing which is something completely different. Climbing requires special gear and techniques for scaling steep grades and the sport can be potentially dangerous. Hiking is more of an activity than a sport. While hiking can have some dangers, such as getting lost or bitten by a snake, it is an extremely safe activity.

Hiking requires you to have some basics but no special equipment is necessary, especially if you?re just starting off on short, day hikes. All you?ll need to get started are some good hiking boots and appropriate clothing for the climate you?ll be hiking in.

While running or walking shoes will suffice for a hike of a couple of hours, you?ll want to invest in some proper hiking boots if you want to really pursue hiking. Hiking boots give you the proper support, the right amount of insulation and the soles are specially made for rough and slippery terrain. While they may cost more than you think they should, they will be well worth the investment. A well made pair of hiking boots will last you years.

Hiking on well marked, well trodden paths are pretty straight forward and you have little chance of getting lost. You should bring a compass and map, especially if you?re interested in getting off the trail. Make sure you know how to use them before you start out on your hike. Once you get more experienced and adventurous you may consider purchasing a GPS unit which uses satellites to locate your position and direction.

Hiking is sure to be something that you?ll enjoy and benefit from. This is true if you're hiking in Colorado or Malaga, Spain. There is very little equipment needed to get started so what are you waiting for?

Or, try ice climbing on a glacier or backpacking in one of the state?s beautiful parks. The Denali National Park is a must-see. With so much adventure and fun, you surely will not miss the beach while immersed in the glory and fun of your Alaska outdoor adventure.

Though the weather doesn't match that of weather in alicante spain, Alaska cruises are a popular choice for many traveling to this untamed land for the first time. Cruises suffice both the adventure seekers and those in it for the sightseeing. If a fishing excursion does not sound intriguing, then you may rather enjoy a tour of an old, historic ghost town. Regardless of what you choose, doing what you enjoy is a lot of the fun in planning your Alaska adventure travel.

If you are traveling with a combination of personalities, it is best to have one base or ?travel headquarters? to suit everyone in the travel party. The actual travel to Alaska can be an adventure itself and should also be considered. Why You Should Consider Taking a Tour of Costa Rica

By Ken Morris

When you think of Costa Rica, you automatically think of how beautiful the destination is. Boasting some of the most stunningly beautiful beaches, thousands of tourists flock to Costa Rica each year in order to relax and get away from it all. However, there is more to Costa Rica than its nice sandy beaches. In fact there is a whole lot of adventure to be found if you look under the surface.

You can experience horseback riding, hiking and whitewater rafting to name just a few of the activities on offer. So if you want a combined holiday of adventure and relaxation then Costa Rica just may be the destination to suit you.

Where to Stay

When it comes to choosing somewhere to stay in Costa Rica, you really will be spoilt for choice. You can choose to stay in a hotel which offers adventure travel discounts, or you could simply take it as it comes and stay in a few different hotels as you experience new things. All of the activities that you can do are not all situated in the same place and so if you do want to experience more than one thing you may need to consider staying in different hotels.

Ideally if you have the money then an adventure package with the hotelwould be worth taking up. The price of the package will obviously vary depending upon the activity you want to do, how long you want to do it for and which hotel you choose to say at. However, you should expect to pay anything from $1,000-$3,000 for a week at most hotels. The advantage of taking up an adventure package is that everything is sorted out and arranged for you. You will not have to worry about bookings, travel instructions or anything else that you would otherwise have to worry about.

Things to Do

Whilst some of the activities that you can do may not sound particularly exciting, when you really look into them you will find that there is more to them than meets the eye. For example, you may be able to go horseback riding anywhere in the world, but can you experience beautiful waterfalls and majestic volcanoes in any other part of the world? The chances are you can?t find anything to match the scenery in Costa Rica. No matter which activity you choose to do, you are sure to love it as the atmosphere is just simply breathtaking.

So if you have not considered taking a trip to Costa Rica then hopefully this information may have changed your mind. It truly is a breathtaking place and it is perfect for adventure travel too. You could even take a tour of Costa Rica too if you would like to too.

Simplify Your Air Travel: Know the Rules on Carry On Luggage

By Pat Lowe

In today's security conscious society, there are many new policies that make taking a flight more tricky than ever. What with limits on luggage size and weight, new security precautions and regulations on what's permissible to carry onto the plane, it can seem overwhelming. However, it's important to keep in mind that these requirements are there for your protection.

Be Aware of the Rules

This is not always easy and things seem to change from week to week which causes more and more confusion for the traveler. However, turning up at the airport and pleading ignorance is absolutely no excuse and you will no longer get away with it. By far the best way to avoid any bother at the airport as far as your luggage is concerned is to make sure you know and understand the rules before setting off on your journey.

Check online before you pack. Airline websites are the best source of information on the current restrictions regarding carry on luggage. But remember that even though all airports throughout the country adhere to the same rules, sometimes they are construed in varying ways.

The carry on luggage rules are even more complicated on an international flight. International flights tend to be under stricter security regulations and may be subject in part to the laws and rules of the country that you are flying into. On your return journey, you will again need to be aware of the laws and rules of the airport you are leaving from.

Some carry on luggage rules are more like a request than a rule. For example, airlines request that you bring the smallest piece of carry on luggage that is necessary, but you are allowed to have a carry on piece up to the largest allowable size.

In the same way, the Transportation Security Administration advises that you should stow away any electronic gear in your checked baggage, although it is permissible to carry them in your hand luggage.

Be Prepared

No doubt you've witnessed a passenger at airport security who loudly refuses to obey the rules on carry on luggage. It's an awkward situation and one that delays all the other passengers as well. And they can't win - the staff is following the rules and you can't change their minds by making a fuss. Don't be that person; know the carry on luggage rules before you leave home.

Your journey will be easier, quicker and safer all round if you take a few simple steps to keep abreast of carry on luggage rules and regulations.

Booking a Vacation of a Lifetime in Costa Blanca

By Greg Hansward

Costa Blanca is almost certainly the most popular tourist destination in Spain. This is because it has beautiful weather and stunning beaches. This attracts millions of people each and every year. The busiest season is during the summer, however the area is lucky enough to benefit from lovely weather all year round.

The northern region of Costa Blanca begins at the base of the mountains in Denia and Javea. This region continues down the Mediterranean coastline to the south. There are some large cities and small villages which you can visit all along this region.

Traveling to the Costa Blanca

Most travelers visiting Costa Blanca fly straight into Alicante airport. If traveling in the summer months then you will experience the heaviest traffic. If you do plan to travel in the summer then make sure you book your flight, car hire and hotel very early. This will allow you to get the best deal.

When you arrive at Alicante airport there are a number of options to travel to Costablanca. In my personal opinion, the best way is to hire a car. However if you don't want to drive there are plenty of other options. You could take a bus or a taxi to the train station or to a town. Trains are very cheap and a very efficient way of getting around the different cities during your stay.

Attractions in Costa Blanca

Costa Blanca has around 200 km of beautiful coastline, this offers hundreds of different attractions for tourists. In Alicante tourism is big business, it is one of the biggest employers in the region. Tourists from all around Europe flock to the region, especially those in the United Kingdom.

Alicante is the capital city in this region of Spain. There are a lot of things to see and do in this city. It's a truly fantastic place to experience all that Spanish culture has to offer and learn about the history. In late June there is a festival, and there are many museums and cathedrals to look around.

A very famous castle in Alicante is the Castell de Santa Barbara this dates back from 400 AD and has a moat, drawbridge, dungeons and a tower. This is a great way to see the city from a distance!

If you're staying in Alicante then you could consider taking a day trip to Isla Tabarca. This is a very popular trip and can be reached by ferry from the city. This is an island which has a very quaint fishing village with some truly amazing seafood restaurants. There are also tidal pools, rocky beach and clear water.

Benidorm is another popular location which started out as a fishing village, however now the economy is mostly based upon tourism. There are more hotels in Bennidorm than any other city in Spain. This area is well known for its extravagant night life. There are many bars and night clubs which make an interesting night out.

Villajoyosa Is a village which can be found just south of Bennidorm. This is a much smaller fishing village which is more relaxing. This city is famous for its chocolate.

Javea and Denia can be found in the north and offers a nature park. This natural park of montgo offers plenty of opportunities to look at flora, rare birds and fauna.

Tips on Finding Cheap Car Rentals

By Johnathan Bakers

Are you researching car rental rates and specials? There are a number of specials and gimmicks advertised on T.V. and the internet. The market is very competitive and some gimmicks are downright ridiculous. It?s best to find the lowest rate with the most perks. Here are some tips to searching for cheap car rentals from reputable companies.

What?s In a Name?

There are many nationwide car rental companies known in the travel industry such as Avis, Hertz and National. Some have names that imply they are less expensive than the others such as Payless, Dollar and Budget Rent A Car. These companies target a budget minded customer but they are not always the cheapest. Many times other car rental companies have the same or lower rates. It?s best to search all available car rental companies regardless of their marketing scheme.

Email Alerts

Many car rental companies reserve the best deals for customers who book directly through them. Visit the company?s website to view specials and virtual coupons. You should also sign up for email alerts. The rental company will send you an email when they have a special offer. They may also send you coupons that can save you money or entitle you to a free rental day or free upgrade.

Loyalty Programs

It?s also a good idea to sign up for a rental car company?s loyalty program, especially if you?ll be renting frequently in the future. Not only will you receive email alerts for promotions but you?ll also get special discounts that only loyalty program members are entitled. After you?ve rented a few times, you will receive perks on subsequent rentals such as free upgrades and free options such as GPS. You?ll also be able to take advantage of special lines for VIP customers for fast car pickup and drop off.

Small Car Rental Companies

The large rental chains have the most loyal customers and have a large number of locations and variety of vehicles but they don?t always offer the best rest. Many times small rental offices have better rates. You?ll have to weigh the price benefit with the other downsides. They usually aren?t located right at the airport, their car selection is poor and not guaranteed and their service can be lacking. Smaller companies also don?t usually have a loyalty program which may not matter if you don?t intend on renting frequently.

Also take a good look at the contract. Most of the large car rental chains include standard services such as roadside assistance with the rental price. If you?re renting from a small company then ask if they offer the service for a fee.

Whether you choose a large chain or small ?mom and pop? rental car company, carefully look over the contract and the estimated total price before signing. There are always hidden costs that you need to be aware of before driving away.

Beaches in Key West

By Mikey West

The beaches found in Key West are hardly Florida's finest. No one is likely to think the promised sand has been reached. The real beaches are at Fort Lauderdale, Miami Beach and Daytona Beach. The nearest thing to a good beach is a good 45 minutes drive up the Keys to Bahia Honda State Park Beach.

These beaches are small, the sand is coarse, rocks are abundant, the slope hardly exists, and the waves simply do not exist. Nevertheless, two Key West beaches will suffice. Those two beaches are Smathers Beach and Fort Zachary Taylor Beach.

Smathers Beach is the best-known beach in Key West. It is the biggest and most popular sandy beach, with plenty of sand. There is quite a bit of seaweed. The water is very clear and makes for good snorkeling. The footing under the water's surface is rough coral. You should be able to locate parking, a picnic table, the concessions, and the public restrooms and showers. If you are the active type, you can rent water sports equipment for windsurfing or sailing. As an alternative you might choose to try parasailing or a boat ride.

Fort Zachary Taylor Beach is located inside Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park. It has a wonderful natural setting with pine trees, rocks and coral. Diners have picnic tables, grills and a refreshment stand on the site. Restrooms and showers are available. You are able to rent beach chairs for sitting and watching the cruise ships. You can rent snorkeling equipment and kayaks if you feel active or you can hike the nature trail.

Rest Beach is not as large as Smathers Beach and does not have as many activities for you. The sand quality is identical. This beach has a yoga deck and tables. The nearest restrooms are at neighboring Higgs Beach. The White Street Pier serves as the boundary between these two beaches. This wooden fishing pier is a long one and provides a good starting point for snorkeling.

Like Rest Beach, Higgs Beach is smaller than Smathers Beach. Higgs Beach is on the other side of the street from the Astro Park children's park. Along with the restrooms and shower are a few picnic tables and limited concessions. Fine dining is available at the restaurant on the beach. Beach chairs and snorkeling equipment are offered in case you want to rent them.

Appropriately-named Dog Beach is rocky and messy and noteworthy because it does indeed allow dogs. For dog owners who love the beach, this is heaven by the ocean. For others, this is a beach to avoid.

There are only two other beaches open to the public. There are no facilities at either, so for the most part they are used by the residents, not the tourists. South Beach is the larger one and Simonton Street Beach is the smaller one. It is best to walk if you plan to visit either.

A Brief Introduction To Fly Fishing

By Harry Smith

The sport of fly fishing has, through the centuries, continually grown in popularity to become one of the most popular sports which offers unique challenges. Part of the appeal is that it takes a great deal of time to master fly fishing techniques and to develop your own style and knowledge.

The most important piece of fly fishing equipment is the fly itself (and from which to sport gains it's name). The "fly" is an artificial lure which is finely styled using a specific fly pattern. Fly patterns are tried and tested designs of flies that have proven themselves to have the ability to attract fish. Some fly patterns are ancient but, due to their great success, they are still used in fly fishing today.

The design of the fly pattern proves so effective as the creator made it to appear to the fish as though it was it's natural food. The shape also helps the fly to move in such a way as it further enhances the lures natural appearance to the fish.

As well as the fly pattern other fly fishing equipment has been specifically designed and perfected to further enhance the movement of the fly. All of the equipment, rod, reel, line and fly, work together and should be finely balanced in order to catch fish successfully.

All fly fishing equipment should be extremely strong yet, at the same time, as light as possible. The rod should also be sufficiently flexible to ensure a good cast in even the most restricted of spaces (such as when casting from below a steep bank or when there are overhanging branches and the likes). Fly fishing rods vary in length from as short as 7 ft to as long as 9 ft . Anything less than 8 ft is generally considered a short rod but I have seen some extremely short hand made fly fishing rods which are awesome in any conditions.

Besides the fly fishing equipment essentials there are a great many fly fishing accessories available to the modern angler. High on the shopping list of many is a decent set of waders which can be purchased relatively cheaply nowadays. However spending a little more will equip you with the latest breathable waders made out of modern lightweight materials perfect for the angler who wants to remain cool and dry at all times. Of course there are many, many more fishing accessories available but few are really essential and should be considered a luxury.

Taking up fly fishing is rather easy as once you have your basic fly fishing equipment you can upgrade as your budget allows. You can start with a cheap fly fishing kit which can be obtained online or offline (from most sports retailers). Before you take to the waters I would advise that you take a short course or, at the least, a couple of lessons and many places offer the ability to hire equipment which can further reduce your initial outlay.

After only a short while the sport of fly fishing becomes extremely addictive and, before long, you will find yourself looking for opportunities to satisfy your appetite for it. While many folk are lucky enough to live in places such as Scotland, Alaska or Colorado, where there are plenty of places where one can go fly fishing, the majority of us have to travel some distance to get the best fishing. However it is relatively easy to book fly fishing vacations which cater for virtually every need of the angler.

Wherever you choose to indulge in the sport you are almost guaranteed to enjoy it to the full. Even if the weather is foul and you fail to catch a single fish you will still have enjoyed the day, especially if you have been fishing with friends (who may have been more successful than yourself).

No, it is not too early to start shopping for some good materials that you can use on your homemade Christmas gifts. In fact, the earlier you start shopping for materials, the better.

There are a number of different activities which you can do to keep yourself occupied, from climbing tours, sea kayaking and walking tours. These are fantastic ways to spend your time.

Taking a Costa Blanca Climbing Holiday

Climbing enthusiasts really enjoy visiting Costa Blanca and the surrounding areas because of the favorable weather conditions. This makes it possible that there is a long climbing season. The Alicante province has many mountains which are a challenge to even the best climber. There are a series of limestone mountains which run from the coast to inland. There are over 2500 places to climb along the Costa Blanca region.

There are plenty of guided climbing tours which are available throughout the region. The comfortable temperatures and cheap flights during the winter months make these areas very popular for climbing holidays. You can find group tours or private one on one instruction if preferred.

Most of these tours last eight hours per day, and contain plenty of climbing practice. As you gain confidence you are able to do more difficult climbs. During a week?s tour you should be able to complete more difficult climbs, you should have a good knowledge of climbing skills.

Guide to Oceania Discount Cruises

By Martha Vasquez

Do you enjoy cruising and are looking for a different vacation experience? Have you already visited Alaska, the Greek Isles, and Mexico? Are you looking for a bright summer vacation in the middle of a cold winter? It is time to experience a new area of the planet, it is time to visit Oceania. Do not be afraid of an exotic vacation costing more than you can afford. You will be able to find discount cruises to Oceania.

Oceania is the section of the earth around the South Pacific islands and Australia. These are the areas of the world commonly known as Micronesia and Polynesia. Cruises in the Oceania region are becoming popular and considered a luxury cruise on a moderate budget. Because cruises to many of the islands in Oceania are not as popular or well known, the prices for these cruises are more moderate than some of the Caribbean island cruises.

The cruise ships used for Oceania cruises are usually smaller than the average ship used for other cruises. The ships still contain all the amenities you have come to expect from other cruise vacations but on a slightly smaller scale. A smaller ship also means less people but usually the same amount of crew. So if large crowds bother you consider giving cruising one more try with a cruise to Oceania. Less vacationers means the crew will be able to pay more attention to you and your needs.

Because of the changes in seasons between the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere, the prime cruising period for Oceania is from September to February. Oceania will be in the middle of summer during this time and quite reasonable in temperature. Imagine a Christmas holiday cruise to Australia where the sun is shining instead of shoveling snow in your driveway.

Finding a discount cruise to Oceania is easy. First, you can choose to travel during an off-peak time. During off-peak travel, ships offer great discount cruise to travelers because there is reduced demand for travel. Also, you can find great discounts if you are able to travel on one or two days notice. Cruise companies always want to sale with a full ship so many times they will offer last minute travel discounts or bonuses to travelers. It may take you a day to travel to your port of call, but a good travel agent will keep travel time in mind when contacting you about last minute cruise deals.

There are many websites that offer cruise deals and usually Oceania cruises will be included in their deals. Sign up for cruise sale notifications and contact your local travel agents and ask them to contact you if any last minute sales are posted to the ports you want to visit. Be as flexible with your travel dates as you can and you will find a great deal and a new location for cruising. With all the islands in the Oceania region you may spend years cruising the ports of Oceania.

New Zealand Travel Insurance Importance

By Roc Selly

Sitting 990 miles southeast of Australia, this wonderfully diverse and breathtakingly scenic country is a cluster of islands in the South Pacific, the largest two being the North and South Islands which stretch the combined distance of 1600km. Those who live in New Zealand refer to it as God's Own as a tribute to its beauty. The weather is usually a hot topic of conversation as it plays a huge part in the livelihood of this farming nation. New Zealand is the world's biggest exporter of meat, wool, cheese and butter. Another popular name for New Zealand is the Maori word 'Aotearoa' meaning 'land of the long white cloud' and with its generally temperate and damp climate and mostly mountainous landscape, this is not surprising.

The Maori culture has left in its wake a nation filled with Maori descendants who hold dear the teachings of their elders. An authentic Maori encounter can be had virtually anywhere in New Zealand. A rare opportunity to experience the prayer, language, dance, legends, trades and food of the Maori.

New Zealand is home to bungee jumping entrepreneur A J Hackett, and has nurtured a host of activities to satisfy adrenaline junkies from coast to coast including some of the more recent inventions such as Fly by Wire and Base Jumping. For these sports you need a company that can offer you New Zealand Travel Insurance that covers adrenaline sports in its policy - this is not always an easy task as adrenaline sports are high risk and if involved in an accident, the costs that occur can reach well into the millions if the victim involved faces high medical costs, rehabilitation and possibly even the necessity to be flown home (repatriation). Travelers from around the world fly immense distances to visit this easternmost country (the first country to see in the new-year and the first hour of every day) in search of a real Kiwi experience. It is definitely a necessity for any travelers visiting New Zealand to acquire New Zealand Travel Insurance but not for reasons one would normally expect.

A common nickname for a New Zealander is 'Kiwi'. This is taken from a nocturnal bird indigenous to the islands, one of a list of many that call New Zealand home. For the avid birdwatcher, the diversity of the cold South Island and hotter North Island both make New Zealand a popular destination and there are hardly any predators capable of depleting its masses of birdlife. However, to spot some of the less sighted New Zealand birds, a little exploring and orienteering is required. Again, New Zealand Travel Insurance a wise idea for your peace of mind.

North Island contains hot springs and geysers and South Island is mostly mountainous with glaciers and eastern lowlands. Be amazed by the beauty of the forests and farmlands and the rivers and unlimited access to the ocean. Be thrilled by the ongoing activities from fishing and camping to rock climbing and sky diving. New Zealand is a playground for adventurers and the more mellow family vacationers. It is important to get good New Zealand Travel Insurance that will cover adventure sports which is not only ideal for active travelers but also for families going on fishing charters or even just kayaking around the bays. It is a country that takes at least three hours' flying time to reach and in some cases, almost 24 hours. When holidaying or on business so far from home, it's a comfort to know that someone is watching your back in case any problems should arise.

For anyone wanting to see the world, New Zealand should be in your top five! The Kiwi people are very hospitable and have a true sense of understated pride in their country which they are eager to share with visitors.

Take The Family To An Ecotourism Travel Destination

By John Bakers

For many who have an eye firmly on the future, children, ecotourism and personal growth go hand in hand. As families choose a travel destination, whether it is in the more traditional field of recreation tourism or in the growing industry of ecotourism, the adults make choices with the welfare of children in mind.

Of course, how much effect a travel choice has on child development is still a matter of opinion, but not too many people would argue that quality travel choices and environmental education do children a lot of good. When parents, medical personnel and child psychologists discuss personal growth, they often have an image of a new style of "pop" psychology. In response, a segment of the population will look on this concept with derision, even sneering at the idea of guiding the personal growth of a child.

Those who react negatively often cite limited research and suspect information as reasons for dismissing the "pop" psychology movement. Many see this trend as just another way to make money through the sale of books, CDs and other products.

There is certainly some benefit to this psychology, however limited. But there will also be a consistent cloud of doubt as to the legitimacy of such "movements" because of the commercialization inherent in a capitalist society. Ecotourism as a positive influence on child development may be a bit different, however. This new concept in world travel is founded on solid principles that focus on the environment and the preservation of natural resources.

The value system that is at the core of this idea can be a positive influence on all age groups, not just the young. But passing these values on to succeeding generations may indeed be the key factor in the success of ecotourism and the preservation of a fragile environment. Dedication to the cause of preservation can have a long-lasting impact on the way our younger generations view social activity and economic success. This is true from rain forests in the Amazon to the Gran Hotel Bali in benidorm

Putting "children" and "ecotourism" together as a concept may be uncomfortable for some. To some ears, it may be an odd mix of words. When most people think of ecotourism, the image is one of progressive adults who are more than average in their sensitivity to environmental issues. Ecotourism, to most, is the combination of progressive beliefs and time away from work.

But for others, this description is much too limited. Ecotourism is not all play or all work. It is, indeed, a great opportunity for education and personal growth. This growth should not be limited to adults, according to proponents of ecotourism, who see this concept as a way to invest in the future of our children. Within the growing ecotourism movement, some have been confronted with the term "children ecotourism gambit," voiced by sceptics who see the inclusion of children as a tool to get more attention (and money) for the industry.

Sincere proponents of ecotourism, however, see that this new field can help instil values in our children that will lead to serious involvement in environmental and social issues in the future. Activities that combine children and ecotourism can be fun and educational in the present, while building a foundation for responsible travel and tourism in the future.

By Clinton Maxwell

The Best Asian Places to Visit

There are a number of places in Asia which seem to be more popular than others. So when you are planning your Asian journey some of the best locations to visit include:

Vietnam Indonesia Thailand Malaysia Philippines

Vietnam has two main hotspots that are not to be missed and they include Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. They are both modernized and they provide everything you could possibly need to have a great vacation. However you will need to have a tourist visa before you can actually get into Vietnam and the mosquitoes there can be particularly annoying so it is always best to carry some repellent around with you.

Thailand is another extremely popular Asian place which thousands of tourists flock to each year. What you may not know about the people in Thailand is that they are actually quite religious. They believe that the head is the highest part of the body and so you should never touch anybody's head whilst you are there. You should also not make fun of the king whose pictures are situated around Thailand and also never point at anything with your foot. If you remember these small things then you should enjoy your stay.

Malaysia is all about culture and you will see various food stands situated around the place selling local delicacies. It is definitely advised that you taste these delicacies when you can. Another tip when you are travelling to Malaysia is to wear really cool clothing. The people of Malaysia are religious and you will notice that there are a number of different religious buildings situated around the place.

Finally Indonesia is a fascinating place to visit, though there are some very important rules you need to remember. Anything with Chinese writing on is banned in Bali. So if you have a tattoo with Chinese writing on then it is advisable to ensure that it is covered up at all times or simply do not go to Bali!

Overall Asia is a fascinating country to visit. With so many fascinating places to explore and so many great rides to experience, you would be mad to not even at least consider going to Asia on your next vacation.

Understanding Travel Insurance Coverage

By Amy Nutt

Before you head out on that big trip, do you need to purchase travel insurance? What is travel insurance anyway? Is it a wise investment, or a waste of money? Understanding travel insurance before you book your next trip will help you make a wise decision as to whether or not to purchase this insurance product.

Two Main Coverage Options

Travel insurance products vary quite a bit from policy to policy. For this reason, you need to carefully read the policy you are considering buying. However, there are two main types of coverage that you will almost always see as part of a travel insurance plan. These are trip cancellation or interruption coverage and emergency medical evacuation coverage.

Trip cancellation or interruption coverage will pay all or a portion of the cost of your trip if it is cancelled or cut short due to unforeseen circumstances. For instance, if you end up in the hospital before your trip, you may be able to get your deposit back. However, you should know that not all reasons for cancellation are covered. If you decide that you do not want to go at the last minute, you will not get your money back. The interruption part of this coverage will cover the loss you may have if the cruise line or tour company canceled your trip. If, for instance, you have to head home early due to bad weather while you are on your cruise, you may be able to get reimbursed for a portion of your trip's cost.

Emergency evacuation coverage is great for those who are traveling out of the country. If you need to be medically evacuated from your destination country, you will not have to pay for the evacuation or your trip back to America if you have this coverage. This is important coverage for those who are traveling in areas where there is not going to be access to good medical care.

Other Coverage Options to Consider

While these two coverage options are almost always included in a travel insurance policy, there are other options available. Those who are traveling overseas often purchase travel health insurance. This covers the cost of medical care that you may need while traveling out of the country. However, before you purchase this, make sure you do not already have similar coverage through your existing health insurance provider.

Some travel insurance policies also include a lost or stolen baggage clause. This will pay the approximate cost of replacing any lost or stolen luggage or other belongings that you have. Whether the airline loses your baggage or someone steals it while you are on your trip, it will be covered.

Catches to Watch For

There are some catches to watch for when shopping for travel insurance. First, look for the various exceptions and exemptions on the policy. For instance, if you are purchasing interruption coverage, you may find that you will only be reimbursed after you have tried all that you can try to get a reimbursement from the cruise line or tour company or if the company declares bankruptcy. Also, check your other insurance policies, such as your health insurance and home owner's insurance, to make sure that you are not purchasing coverage that you already own.

Understanding what travel insurance actually covers is important when you are making a decision about purchasing it. It is not a perfect solution that will repay you for the cost of your trip under any circumstances. Most policies have specific circumstances under which they will pay, and other circumstances that are excluded from the policy. Read the policy carefully, consider your individual needs, and decide whether or not the cost of travel insurance is worth the protection it provides.

Garish evidence of the US presence in Cuban history is there in the grand old 50s Chevrolets and Cadillacs miraculously still rolling through the streets-and in the Vedado district's hotels that were head quarters for the Mafia's night clubs and casinos.

A bit of History: Christopher Columbus disembarked on October 28, 1492, somewhere between Gibara and Guardalavaca. Looking After Your Health on Holiday Excursions

By Greg Hansward

If you are going on a cruise as part of your summer vacation then it is no doubt a really exciting time for you. It is a once in a lifetime experience and you get to visit many holiday locations on the way. However, there is one thing that many people forget to take into account when it comes to cruises and that is their health.

Protecting Your Health on the Ship

Whilst you may not have thought about it already, it is vital that you look after your health on the cruise ship. This is because not all ships have a doctor on board. So if something was to happen and you did not have the right first aid, you could end up in a spot of trouble.

One reason why a cruise ship may not always be so healthy is because there are hundreds of people on board. The corridors can be quite narrow and so people are often packed into small spaces. This means that your health is constantly under threat. If one person had a cold on the ship then it is entirely possible that they could pass it on to a large number of people around them if they are not overly careful.

In order to protect your health on board the ship there are a number of things that you should do. Firstly you should have your own health checked before you get on board the ship. You need to know that you are healthy and safe to travel and your doctor will also be able to tell you what precautions they recommend that you take. You may have to have some vaccinations depending upon where you are going too so a trip to the doctor is definitely advised.

If you are currently taking any medications then obviously you are going to need enough for the length of the cruise. This may mean that you have to ask your doctor for a larger supply if needed. If you ran out of medication then your health would obviously be at stake and so you should always ensure that you have enough to last you.

Generally cruise ships are quite relaxing and you may find that you just want to lay back and relax and kick off your shoes. However before you do that you should keep in mind that germs are quickly spread on a cruise ship and how many people have also walked around without any shoes on? So ideally you should never take your shoes off and wander around. This is true if you're sailing from Alaska or costa blanca.

Overall excursions on cruise ships can be fun but you should always be aware of your health whilst you are there. All cruise ship vacations should be relaxing though so don't worry yourself too much about it!

Useful Airport Manchester parking information

By Craig Walker

Getting the right parking at Manchester Airport is as important as getting the right flight from Manchester. You can pay more than you need to and be inconvenienced more than necessary. There are ways to get the best parking prices at the airport and know that your car is secure.

It is always best to pre-book your car parking space at one of the car parking areas near the airport, not only will this save you money but it will also give you peace of mind.

There are a few car park companies around Manchester Airport all offering shuttle services to and from the terminal buildings. Prices are relatively similar and the choice you make will probably depend on which one is nearest you and the direction you are approaching Manchester Airport from.

If you are more concerned with comfort and not the cost there is an excellent chauffeur service such as Meteor which offers a meet and greet service for you and your party and you don't have to wait on the last person to come out with their luggage. There is no waiting and you get to travel in a bit of style and you are taken straight to your car.

Whilst you are away why not treat your car, most car parks can arrange for your care to be cleaned or have a full valet. It is possible at some car parks for your car to have a complete service whilst you are away.

You can also book car parking at the airport, which is nearer the airport itself. The car parking prices at airport car parks tend to be the highest but are a bit more convenient. Exploration of Life Begins with You

By Leroy Calstard

Eco-tourism started in the 1980's, but is gaining popularity. When it comes to ecotourism, you will find that it can be appealing to those who genuinely care for the earth and people who have become social consciousness about the changes that are occurring to the beauty of the earth as well. You will find that it is very important that you learn how to focus your time on some of your local culture and the preservation of the local wilderness and human surroundings. You will also find that ecotourism happens to be the responsible tourism and it is something that is fairly new to the concept of time. It was developed in the 1980's, but today have hundreds of followers who care and are concerned for the earth locally, and for areas that they have visited abroad.

As for the history of ecotourism, you will find that it has always been around clear back to the age of Charles Darwin. You will find that there are many figures in the past who has brought their local ecological status to the eyes of others, but it happens to be the way that you conserve your natural resources and prevent the normal wear and tear of carelessness. You will also find when it comes to the present day definition of eco-tourist, you will be able t o find that it is a growing concept and that more and more people feel it as their civil duty to care for the future of their area and the future of the earth in general.

As a fast growing concept, you will find that it is the growing awareness of need for natural resources in the future that has made many people think about how they can live off of the earth, without harming the earth. This spans the world from the US, Europe and even Benidorm, Spain. There are also more and more people wanting to take the time to explore areas of the world that they are not familiar with intentions of helping the economy and the people and animals that sustain in the area. It is more than just traveling, but it is a way that you can help people, animals, and plants learn to grow in each other's worlds.

For those who do not know, you will find that eco-tourism is the first major step into realizing that we have a problem and we need to figure out how to promote awareness. You will also need to think about the fact that there are government groups getting involved to help ecotourism and put the beauty back into the run down areas of the world.

You will also find that ecotourism happens to be the responsible tourism and it is something that is fairly new to the concept of time. It was developed in the 1980's, but today have hundreds of followers who care and are concerned for the earth locally, and for areas that they have visited abroad.

Picking the Perfect Christmas Ornaments to Make

By Chris Carlyle

Do you have a couple of people on your Christmas list who you don't really want to spend much money on? That's not to say that you're being mean, it's just that you may not know these people all that well and really have no idea what they'd want anyways.

While Christmas ball ornaments are cheap, they aren't poorly made. They just use common materials such as glass and metal, and they look absolutely beautiful. Recent advances in their manufacturing processes have resulted in new and wonderful designs, incorporating some very familiar brands such as Coca Cola and your favorite sports teams on Christmas ball ornaments, spicing them up beyond the familiar solid colors of yesteryear.

However, these unique designs will cost you more than purchasing mutli-packs of them. For ten dollars, you could either get a single Christmas ball ornament featuring wild designs or a pack of twenty ornaments in solid colors (not to mention that the twenty pack will probably contain smaller ball ornaments). It's generally wise to pick up a variety of both types. The older types of Christmas ball ornaments will come in enough volume to fill up your tree, but unique versions will help to give your tree vibrance.

However, you can also buy baby first Christmas ornaments to help commemorate the first Christmas of your child. With one of these, you'll be able to fondly look back in years to come and remember what times were like, and it's a gift that you can cherish for the rest of your life.

Other Christmas ornaments to make include ornaments made with pipe cleaners and felt. These can be cut into various shapes including animals, insects and even people. Pipe cleaners can be used to craft anything from antennae to hanging hooks, and eyes can easily be glued onto anything from butterflies to reindeer.

You'll also be able to display how you not only recognize the family as important, but the individual as well and their accomplishments, a display of your pride in your child. Christmas ball ornaments are cheap to purchase, easy to find, and they add a level of vibrance to your tree that would be sorely lacking without.

Some Important Information on a Orlando Vacation

By Sammy Maseko

Whilst Orlando vacations have been popular for many years now, the number of reasons to visit continues to grow as the number of facilities and attractions increases. As an Orlando devotee, I can recommend all of the theme parks there but did you know that the area is brimming with other visitor attractions that can please and amuse without a roller coaster in sight. There is also International Drive which houses a huge number of attractions, shopping areas and water parks; all within a reasonable walking distance if you want a rest from driving.

There isn't a friendlier city in the world and one where almost anything is possible with plenty of shopping malls, great food of every type and specialist shops like Outdoor World at the top of International Drive with a 17,000 gallon super aquarium, this store is so large you could spend all day there. This article highlights some of the other visitor attractions that you could see on an Orlando vacation which are not as well publicized as the theme parks but are equal in their ability to please.

The Central Florida Zoo for instance only opened back in 1975 and was owned by the Sanford Fire Department prior to that but is the home to over four hundred animals and is well worth a visit. Even though it is privately owned, it is run by a charitable group with the intention of providing classes for children and protecting species that are only found in Florida and other world wide exotic animals.

It is also possible to see a large collection of the works of Louis Tiffany at the Museum of American Art over in Winter Park. The famous chapel interior commissioned for the World's Columbian Exhibition back in 1893 is also her along with many Tiffany jewelry, art and leaded glass, ornaments and clayware.

For tourists that like to burn the candle at both ends there is a range of nightly entertainment from the themed family evenings like Pirates Adventure or medieval Feasts to more adult based entertainment at Disney's pleasure Island or Universal's Citywalk. Whilst it may seem that Orlando has been created for the entertainment of children that could not be further from the truth as there is plenty here for everyone.

The Orlando Science Center is another of the major attractions of Orlando and its four-story center is the biggest of its kind in the Southeast, offering 10 exhibit halls that allow visitors everything from the Florida swamplands to the dry plains of Mars to the physical body. An alternative to this would be the International Trolley and Train Museum which can be found along International Drive and has one of the nation's largest operating indoor G gauge layouts in a space of over four thousand square feet.

On International Drive there is the Mercado Center which is undergoing some extensive rebuilding work but is still home to the wonderfully moving, sad and at times eerie Titanic exhibition which actually displays a number of original items from the great ship. Away from all the hustle that Orlando has in abundance is the wonderful Lake Eola Park in the heart of downtown has beautiful sidewalks in over forty acres and it is possible to spend a peaceful few hours here.

Now you couldn't possibly visit Orlando without a trip to the numerous theme parks including Disney World, Universal Studios and of course not to forget the fantastic Seaworld. Orlando has enough tourist attraction to last a year but the next time you visit, why not try one or two of the others less well known but just as impressive places.

Adorning The Tree: Christmas Ornaments

By Chris Carlyle

For the children who get to celebrate Christmas, Christmas morning is their favorite time of the year. It's the time when they get to wake up to experience the joy of finding Christmas gifts under the tree. These kids, they think, were brought by Santa Clause. However, Santa Clause is a fantasy. The gifts were actually bought and wrapped by their parents.

In addition, probably the most traditional of all Christmas decorations is the Christmas tree. However, the Christmas tree can be uninspiring if it is not decorated. Often those decorations include Christmas lights, tinsel, an angel at the top of the tree and of course Christmas ornaments. Christmas ornaments are popular for many reasons. Some of those reasons for their popularity include their representation and the way these ornaments can be personalized as they adorn the Christmas tree.

Christmas ornaments hung from a Christmas tree symbolize a powerful message about the true meaning of this time of the year. Specifically, the first ornaments were either food or items made from food. The symbolism of these food items were a representation of God's provision for his people. Some of these foods included were various types of fruits, nuts, baked items, etc. In addition some of the first Christmas ornaments were candles. These candles were a representation of Jesus being the light of the world.

However, you aren't stuck with just baby first Christmas ornaments for getting unique Christmas decorations. Try out a whole host of personalized Christmas ornaments. Pretty much whatever you want to have made, you can (for the right amount of money). The more specific requests you have, the more money these ornaments will cost.

The most common type of baby first Christmas ornament, however, simply has a baby's name stamped onto a normal Christmas ornament. You can go far beyond that, even placing the baby's picture onto the decoration if you so choose. The possibilities are endless, and you're only limited by your imagination in hwo to customize your baby first Christmas ornament.

Some parents don't want to go through the hassle of buying Christmas gifts or they may not have the money to buy everything their kids want. For these parents, you can always make your own gifts. A Christmas gift basket containing candy or something inexpensive can be a great gift. However, it's sad that if your child goes to school and finds out that all his friends got high priced toys and all he got was a gift basket, he'll be saddened and probably made fun of. This is where the custom of Christmas as we celebrate it may need some changing from the commercialized holiday it is today.

Get Rid of Your Timeshare? Insider Tips Revealed

By Willie Bird

If you were pressured into buying a timeshare, there's a good chance that you want to get rid of your timeshare. Getting your money back might be important to you. For a variety of reasons, you might not be able to use your week as often as you would like.

Accordingly, obtaining a return on your investment is a very high priority. The resales of timeshares constitute a market all on their own. How do you go about when selling yours?

If you've done any research on the subject of timeshare resales you have no doubt come across a company that will do it for you. At least, they claim that they will do it for you. While there are some reputable companies out there that will do it, beware of scams. One way to tell if the company is a scam is if they ask you for any upfront fees to sell your timeshare.

A legitimate company can make its money once they get rid of your timeshare. Regardless of how many buyers they claim that they have lined up, don't give them your money. Even if it sounds like a really legitimate fee like an "appraisal fee" or "processing fee" just steer clear. However, if a company doesn't ask for any money up front and you've done your research on them, they might be a good alternative.

When you decide to sell your timeshare, do not expect to get what you invested into it. You should price it on comparable values, not what you think it is worth. The biggest decisions are how much you are willing to list it for and whether you sell it yourself or seek someone else as an agent.

If you bought a time share from the developer, you likely paid full price. The resale of the timeshare will likely be much lower than what you paid - even up to one third the original purchase price. The reluctance of new buyers to pay full price after maintenance fees is among several factors that reduce how much they are willing to pay.

First, you probably paid too much for your timeshare to begin with, especially if you paid the initial asking price. Second, you don't have the resources to duplicate the sales tactics of developers, such as inviting people for free vacations.

Therefore you should resolve yourself to the fact that you're not going to get what you paid for it in most cases. You can research what comparable weeks are selling for on several websites. E-Bay auctions timeshare resales and there are several databases with recent sales figures. Decide on a figure that you feel comfortable with after doing some research and go for it.

How can you get rid of your timeshare? There are many websites that will allow you to sell timeshares. Some exclusively sell timeshares, while others that do not exclusively sell timeshares, such as eBay auction, will allow you to list a timeshare.

Whichever method you try, the more flexible you are the better. Try some different incentives until you find something that works. Whichever method you choose, just remember that timeshares sell every day and you can get rid of your timeshare too.

International Society's Web Site: Informative, Eye-Opening

By Greg Hansward

With any worldwide effort, no matter the field or industry, some formal organizing entity must be in place. Without this, an idea such as ecotourism becomes a dizzying number of activities aimed at the general tourist population. What is needed to give this mass of activity a core is a central source of information and guidance.

For the relatively new field of ecotourism, the International Ecotourism Society seems to be that core entity. Generally, when people encounter the name of a governing organization such as this, they may react negatively. Many feel that such action as environmental advocacy should be left to conscientious individuals and loosely organized local populations.

For many this is an admirable goal that may not function well in reality. So those who are cynical about the International Ecotourism Society or any other governing body should look more closely at the vision of these dedicated individuals.

For this worldwide organization, cynicism may be misplaced. Most who carry a working knowledge of ecotourism see that the group has accomplished a great deal of good since the ecotourism movement was born about 25 years ago. Foremost among these accomplishments was raising the level of awareness among the general public with informative programs. Before the establishment of a governing body such as the International Ecotourism Society, the field of ecotourism was not among topics discussed by the working folks around the globe. Now, however, more and more people who may have taken traditional pleasure trips in the past are setting luxury resorts aside in favor of ecotourism activity. Beyond this, the society has added a whole new sector of fun and relaxation to the list of holiday/vacation choices.

The basic question here might be: Just what is the International Ecotourism Society? The mission of this group is to promote travel to locations around the world in a way that promotes conservation of natural resources and preserves the unique cultures of local populations. Some may feel that this is not such a lofty goal, because they believe that travel for enjoyment does not really harm the environment to a significant degree. But the fact is that irresponsible tours and travel do damage the environment and do negatively impact wildlife. Exploitive hunting in Africa has reduced wildlife populations to alarming levels, often in violation of local laws.

The International Ecotourism Society attempts to provide a balance to these practices by encouraging more responsible travel and vacation activity with less impact on natural resources. In fact, a growing number of informed citizens realize that this group provides a service of immeasurable value, because it has raised awareness of the critical issues surrounding world travel.

Interested citizens are encouraged to contact the International Ecotourism Society through the Web site. http://www.ecotourism.org. This Web site provides further contact information and includes a great deal of information about the ecotourism movement and what it means to the world's animal and plant life.

Visitors to the International Ecotourism Society Web site are finding a comprehensive site that contains some exciting and even eye-opening facts about the environment and the impact travel can have. A visit to the site may be just what some people need to be persuaded that ecotourism is a great idea whose time has come.

Protecting Your Vacation - Paying with a Rewards Credit Card

By Landon McGehee

There are benefits and limitations to using a credit card to book a trip.

Buying a cruise ticket or a plane ticket isn't like making another purchase. If you buy groceries or shoes, you can pay the bill completely and walk away with your purchase in hand. You put down a deposit if you buy a car or a house. You don't pay the entire amount until you move or you drive away.

Credit cards work differently when you travel, however. If you need to make a reservation for a flight or a cruise, you pay in full and well in advance. If the carrier goes out of business before you travel, you may find yourself with little recourse against the carrier. You may not have any rights to try to collect your money.

Many travel professionals will warn their clients that there are few guarantees of getting clients what they want, where you want to go, and how you are going to get there. There are five steps that travelers can take to try to get their money back if the carrier goes out of business.

Step 1: Know Your Rights You don't have many rights when it comes to dealing with the airlines and cruise lines. You are at the carrier's mercy if your flight or cruise is delayed, canceled, or rerouted.

You may qualify for "denied-boarding compensation? if you are bumped from a flight. This means you may be eligible for a nominal cash payment, which is limited to $200 for domestic flights. You don't necessarily qualify for any money if your carrier goes out of business.

Step 2: Charge It Using a credit card can give you a federally guaranteed insurance policy if your carrier goes out of business. Additionally, using a credit card might be your only way to seek reimbursement.

The Fair Credit Billing Act gives people a way to appeal a charge that they made for a product that was never received. You can file for a refund if you paid for a trip on a credit card and the carrier went out of business. This appeal is only active for 60 days after you make the charge.

It's very risk to pay in advance with a check or cash. The Fair Credit Billing Act does not cover cash or checks and your options for getting your money back after the carrier goes out of business are much more limited.

Step 3: Wait If It's Possible Travelers usually receive encouragement to make their reservations early. For those who want to take a long trip or travel during peak seasons, booking in advance is the only way to get the dates and prices they want.

The problem with booking so far in advance is that, as we've mentioned before, the Fair Credit Billing Act has a short time period. You will need to file a written complaint within 60 days after you paid for the travel if your carrier goes out of business before you travel. If the ticket was paid for months ago and you've already paid the bill, you can't use the protections offered in the Fair Credit Billing Act.

Step 4: Compare the Carriers Available to You Airlines in the United States can establish their own policies about delays and cancellations. You can find each policy in the airline's "contract of carriage"; this is the contract between passengers and the airlines, and is available on each airline's contract. Some travelers carry a copy of the contract when they fly. This can enable them to become "experts" on the airline's obligations if there is a problem.

Cruise lines and similar carriers have similar contracts.

Step 5: Consider Paying for Travel Insurance A travel insurance policy can help you recover money that you've lost on a trip that was canceled when the carrier went out of business. Be careful to get a good policy, however, and not one that will only give you additional expenses and problems.

The best and most affordable coverage usually comes from independent travel insurers. Consumers who buy policies from the carrier may think they are covered when they actually weren't.

Travel insurance policies also can cover a range of problems. Those problems include medical emergencies, bankruptcies on the part of the carrier, and terrorist attacks. You should pay close attention to the coverage you buy. You should make sure that you read the fine print for any insurance policy that you buy. Here are some tips for evaluating your insurance even when buying with a rewards card:

* Compare the different policies and insurers available to you. You may want to look at websites that include insuremytrip.com and quotewright.com.

* Buy your policy through an independent insurer and not the carrier.

* Act quickly. You must buy many types of policies within weeks or even days of buying your tickets.

* Think about buying trip cancellation insurance if you are buying or putting a deposit for a trip many months in advance. This is especially true if your ticket is non-refundable. Doing this will give you coverage even after the 60 day limitation under the Fair Credit Billing Act has passed.

* Make sure that your carrier is covered by your insurance policy. Some policies limit the carriers they will cover. Also make sure that your policy covers "financial default? on the part of the carrier.

The Five Main Methods of Getting to Manchester

By Mark Joeseph Bailey

Manchester is the UKs second city after London and like the capital boasts a large transport network with many different ways of getting around the city:

Metrolink - The Metrolink has been running since April 1992 and has now become one of the quickest methods of getting in and out of Manchester and across the city centre. Trams currently run from Bury in the north of Manchester through the city centre and to Altrincham and Eccles to the south and west of Greater Manchester.

Bus - Manchester has several major bus station situated on Piccadilly gardens, Shudehill Interchange and Chorlton Street. These are all situated within walking distance to Manchester's two major railway stations, Piccadilly and Victoria. All three bus stations are also very close to a Metro stop, in some cases its right next to where the bus station is situated so passengers can literally hop off the bus and straight into a tram. Manchester runs a series of free buses which people can jump on and off at any designated stop and Manchester features a series of bus lanes on roads in and out of the city to assist the buses in keeping on time.

Train - With Manchester being the UK's second city it has the busiest major station outside London in England for passenger use. With links to every major town and city in the country. Piccadilly?s main link is with London Euston with a journey time of two and a half hours.

Car - Manchester's road network is understandably busy considering Manchester's size. Manchester does feature the M60 ring road which circles the city enabling easy aces to various roads into Manchester meaning that drivers don't have to drive through the centre and can go around and in on a different road which can be quicker for them.

Plane - Manchester Airport has the fourth busiest airport in the United Kingdom and is the busiest outside London handling over 22 million passengers a year. The airport features good train and bus links with the city centre meaning people transfer quickly to the city; this is very useful for those who are attending meetings in the city centre.

As you can see from the paragraphs above Manchester?s transport network is very well linked together with many interchanges to help passengers go from one type of transport to the other quickly so they can continue their journey with a minimum of disruption.

Manchester does have a series of proposed changes and improvements to the current transport network. Mainly the tram network is going to be extended so it reaches more towns surrounding Manchester and also the airport bringing another valuable link to help people get where they need to go quicker. Also planned is an increase in the amount of trams which run along the lines with new trams being bought to run alongside the existing stock.

The train network is also going to see improvements with more carriages on a lot of services during peak times. Also stations will get new indicator boards to give better information to passengers so there is no confusion over where the train arriving is going to and when it will arrive.

The Best Summer Vacation Location for Campers

By Guy Morris

If you are looking into your next summer vacation then you may be thinking of trying something a little different. The main idea of a summer vacation is to relax, have fun and just forget about everything else in your life and one experience that can help you to do that is camping.

Why Choose Camping For Your Next Summer Vacation?

If you love the outdoors and you like to get closer to nature then camping is definitely the activity to suit you. You just need to choose the right location to suit your camping needs.

If you want to stay within the United States then you will notice that there are quite a large number of campsites available. Camping may not be as popular as it once was but there are still many people who do still enjoy the activity and so campgrounds around America are still quite common.

Camping is ideal for exploration. You can be close to nature and you can explore everything that nature has to offer. The climate may not be brilliant, but you can go camping anywhere in the world and so if you do want a nice warm climate it should not be too difficult to find a location to suit you.

One of the main disadvantages to campgrounds is that the tents and caravans are generally situated really close together. So if you visit the ground at a popular time of year, you may not get too much privacy. So if you are looking for privacy then your best option would be to book your family into a state park.

Generally some of the best camping locations include Texas, North Carolina, New York and California. If you choose to camp in a state park there are also usually other activities which you can try too. This is good news for families where not everyone is as keen on just camping.

Overall you can book your camping trip online if you want to and that will give you a chance to research your location properly beforehand. You ideally should do as much research as possible if you want to have the best possible time camping. There are many different camping locations to choose from both in and out of the United States. So if you want to try out something a little different, why not consider a camping summer vacation for you and your family?

Better than the Beach: Alaska Travel Tours

By Johnathan Bakers

Unspoiled wilderness makes for a vacation with an unpredictable air to it. In Alaska, and not at the beach, is where a pristine landscape can make for an awe-inspiring outing. The fauna, glaciers and freshwater fishing all appeal to the inner adventurer and is why Alaska has so many visitors every year. In addition to the sights, Alaska's outdoor sports are challenging and varied. For fun in the sun, go to a tropical region. But for non-stop action and risk-taking adventure, get a reasonable adventure travel package.

Maybe the greatest aspect of Alaska outdoor adventure travel is that there are different intensities with which a traveler can explore the state. If you are more interested in a relaxing time and not so rigorous one then there are less physical tours you can go on. Many would probably recommend that you charter a day sight-seeing tour. This can be done by flying or boating and you can get to see native marine life like caribou, whales, and polar bears. It is even possible to go to a gold mining ghost town or lay eyes on awe-inspiring glaciers after a day's worth of backpack hiking.

Alaska outdoor adventure travel even provides for a twist on conventional rock climbing. Ice climbing on glaciers or hiking to snow-capped mountains in Denali National Park are not just seasonal activities in Alaska. Camping, kayaking and rafting are just as prevalent. Snowmobiles or ATVs are great ways to break away from the stationary and see as much of Alaska at one time as possible.

Most travelers opt to take a cruise to Alaska on their first time discovering the near barren and full-of-life locations within the region. A cruise allows for those who only want to look do so, while those who want to get nearer to Alaska's harsh environment can do so as well. One traveler might rather go fishing for salmon while another will take advantage of the guided excursion through an abandoned gold mining town instead.

Do what you want as opposed to going along with the group is the appeal of Alaska adventure travel. Since so many people will probably be traveling at once on a tour, it is important to manage you own schedule as everyone might have distinct tastes as far as what they would like to do. You may want to only do a little photo taking or you may want to participate in some sporting activities. It may even be that you want to do both. But you have to plan you own schedule in order to get the most satisfying results.

If you hail from a normally warm climate, a trip to Alaska could be a shock to your system, especially if you have never been on an adventure travel tour before. Therefore, perhaps it is best to take a cruise that leaves from a port in your town or you nearest dock. The alternative is that you will have to fly to Alaska and do pay for car rental and a place to stay while you visit. With a cruise, all of that is covered by the cost.

Outdoor adventure travel plans to go t Alaska can be organized by a traveler by himself or she/he can enlist the assistance of a travel agent. They will have access to more resources and more inside industry information than an one traveler. Plus, when the unexpected happens a travel agent can more sufficiently manage issues such as a late flight or unrecorded reservations at your place of lodging. Do not go it alone if you believe that better deals and service awaits you through the help of a travel agent.

Is Your Child's Halloween Costume Safe?

By Phil Sikes

One of the last things you might think about is the dangers of your incredibly cool, spiffy new Halloween costumes. But you should. Every year someone's costume goes up in flames or otherwise causes them harm. So this is not something to be taken lightly, nor to be trusted to manufacturers "safety" testing. A little bit of diligence on your part will keep your loved ones safe and the fun flowing.

One example of the dangers unsafe costumes can bring is that of a seven-year-old boy who was severely burned in 2004. Photos were taken and distributed of the boy's Lord of the Rings 'Ring Wraith' costume which, despite catching fire and hurting the boy, is still made and sold. How can you protect your children from such a tragedy?

First, consider the material used to make the costume. Those made from 100% nylon or polyester are best since they do not tend to catch fire. Even if they do, the flames are quickly extinguished. Besides the danger of the fire itself, melted polyester can drip onto and burn the skin. Be aware that some costumes have decorations or trimmings that are polyester or nylon while the costume itself is not. Anything apart from these pieces can potentially catch fire and burn, including any other article of clothing the child is wearing apart from the costume itself. Many costumes of superheroes contain ignitable foam padding. Costumes that are 100% acrylic come with the most potential danger since they are highly flammable.

Beware of homes with Halloween decorations that feature lit candles or other open flames. Avoid using these in your own home as well. Since costumes tend to be larger and less maneuverable than most clothing, children may have a hard time ensuring that it does not come in contact with decorative candles.

Besides the obvious risks associated with fire, Halloween costumes put their wearers in danger for other reasons. Costumes that are especially long and that include masks or other headwear could impede clear vision and make children more susceptible to tripping and falling, which is responsible for many injuries annually.

Using contact lenses of a specific design or color has become more popular in recent years as a part of many costumes. These contacts, sold anywhere from flea markets to gas stations, are popular with adults and can cause serious eye problems. They have been implicated in bacterial infections, corneal abrasions, and other injuries that can permanently affect vision.

The sale of such contacts is essentially unregulated, so their level of cleanliness and overall quality cannot be trusted. The best rule to follow is simple. Don't put things into your eyes that shouldn't be there in the first place.

While there certainly are some dangers associated with its celebration, Halloween can be an enjoyable day for everyone. Simply apply the above mentioned suggestions and stay safe during this holiday.

The Boat Care Business - A Brief Critique

By Georgie T Branks

In the USA boating, whether it is sailboats, fishing boats, yachts or general leisure boats, is a massive industry. It doesn'y matter what kind of boat you have but all owners have something in common. At some point in time they will consider taking care of their boat in one aspect or another. Boat care is a big industry within the boating world.

Boat owners will tell you that they love to keep their pride looking ship shape however what does the term 'boat care' incorporate. Well it can be anything from washing down the hull to filling in major cracks. Let's get one thing straight - it's nearly as important as knowing how to navigate!

If you don't care for your boat it can let you down in the most disastrous of situations such as the middle of the ocean 100 miles from shore.

The journey begins by looking at cleaners and waxes currently on the market. You really need to determine which is the correct type for your boat and the method in which your craft will be, or is, stored. Diffrerent products are required for saltwater as opposed to freshwater boats to ensure that the boat has a long longevity.

This will enable your boat to be more easily ready for use when the time is right to take the boat out again.

The Products For Boat Care.

There are a wide variety of cleaning products for the boat and it is up to the consumer to do the research and decide which products are best for their particular boat. Finding a good soap is the first priority in boat care.

If you choose a decent soap you can expect it to remove dirt residue without taking the protective wax coating off your craft.

Spray cleaner is the next must have in boat care and should always be kept on hand. This cleaner will remove any stains that appear on the surface of the boat such as bird droppings, fish blood or just good old fashioned grease.

You also can't do without a good wax for your boat. This will not only help protect the surface from the everyday wear and tear of sailing but will also maintain the color and in doing so the value of your boat.

Depending on the type of boat you have (saltwater v freshwater) it will attract different forms of corrosive and damage from the elements. For this reason you need to research which type of product is best purchased.

Enjoy Protected Exploration With Adventure Travel Insurance

By Linden Walhard

Adventure travel insurance should certainly be on your list of essential pre-vacation needs. Vacation planning entails a lot more than simply checking the local climate or packing your luggage. Purchasing adventure travel insurance is an excellent decision for any adventure travel vacation. You can also find insurance that covers a specific activity you anticipate trying.

For instance, if you are looking forward to an adventure trip including backpacking, you can find travel insurance to cover that particular activity and provide you with the protection you need while enjoying the exploration experience. The same goes for other activities including, but surely not limited to, snowboarding, kayaking, skiing or so many other water sports or winter sports.

Location and budget are two additional factors to consider when finding and purchasing adventure travel insurance. Someone snowboarding and skiing in the United Kingdom may want to choose adventure travel insurance that covers the areas of the United Kingdom, Northern Island and the Channel Islands. You should then indicate whether you want a policy lasting for only a short period of time or an annual policy, all of which obviously depends on your travel habits. When traveling to the United Kingdom, there are two levels of insurance from which you can choose depending on your needs and budget.

Adventure travel insurance is, basically, essential when visiting the different countries of Asia. If you plan to enjoy parachuting or trekking through the mountain ranges of Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia, among others, it is very important that you purchase an adventure travel insurance policy. Without such a policy, you may find yourself dealing with the local health force and ruining what should have been a fantastic experience.

Actually, your adventure travel insurance policy can cover you even for activities in the United States that involve increased risk and are not covered by traditional travel insurance. Often, American insurance companies request that you list the sports and activities you would like covered by your adventure travel insurance policy and provide a quote based on that information.

Companies offering adventure travel insurance packages care will handle your overseas travel wherever you decide to go. They will also include over one hundred different sports and activities, such as skiing, backpacking, bungee jumping and any other adrenalin-pumping activity. This was useful for my recent trip to alicante, where the weather was beautiful.

Some adventure sports are relatively dangerous and realistically quite risky. However, it has been determined that adventure travel insurance companies oftentimes pay for more incidents occurring in hotel rooms rather than in the outdoors where the sporting activities occur. You never know when an injury can occur so having a solid adventure travel insurance plan is useful to ensure you are covered whenever such coverage is required.

Traveling and Budgets are Two Words that Work Together

By Guy Morris

Therefore, you have decided to take your first vacation in years. You may want to make sure that you are ready for the trip before leaving so that you do not get upset over something that is forgotten. You will want to make sure that you consider some of the things that you may need for the trip, and also some of the things that you will want to have in order to enjoy the trip.

No matter how much you prepare yourself, you are going to forget something; however, you will want to consider making a checklist and checking it several times so that you do not forget the major things. Keep in mind if you do realize that you have forgotten things then you will need to either get over it or find a store nearest to you and go purchase it.

You will want to think about some of the things that you will need depending on the weather. It is always a good idea to bring things like a raincoat. You will also want to bring some travel supplies to keep you happy on your way to and back the destination. You will also want o think about some of the following items.

First, you will need to have a suitcase, travel clothing, toiletries, and any appliances. You need to consider brining the things that will make you look good, but also things that you need to feel comfortable. It is so hard to pack all these things, but you will also want to consider traveling light. Meaning, you cannot bring twelve pairs of jeans for a three-day trip. You cannot allow the packing to get the best of you. In addition, if you think you will need an alarm or hairdryer then you should bring it. Bring anything that you think that you will need to have to feel the best.

Some of the other things that you will need to consider will be things like a music player, portable DVD player, a flashlight, camera, film, an iron, an umbrella, and so on. You will want to think about what type of trip you will be taking and adjust your list of things to match what your trip needs. Whether in the best places in Spain or New York.

You will also want to consider the fact that you will need to have things to feel safe in the hotel. You will want to bring things like a doorstopper so that it won?t be so easy to break into the hotel. You will also need to bring things like first-aid kit so that you can be prepared for the worse.

You will want to make sure that you are prepared for anything and everything.

Are you thinking about a holiday to Cuba? Well, out of all the Caribbean Islands, Cuba is definitely one with more to offer than just a beach holiday. The people are extremely friendly and welcoming. The heritage of Cuba is as rich as are the monuments and palaces throughout the country. A holiday to Cuba is something you should really consider in your agenda.

These are just some of the facts to consider and places and things you should not miss in your holidays to Cuba.

Cuba is the biggest island in the Caribbean, almost as big as all the others put together. It stands at the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico, its western end only 145 km (90 miles) from Florida's Key West. Haiti is even closer, 77 km (48 miles) to the east across the Windward Passage.

Today, Canadian and European tourists come to Cuba's 35 most popular playground for its super water sports facilities by day and the countless discotecas and the hotels' lavish cabaret floorshows by night.

One in three visitors to Cuba heads straight for its biggest resort, Varadero, some 100 km (60 miles) east of Havana. Many can not tear themselves away from its magnificent beaches on the Atlantic Ocean. At the western end of the island, beyond Havana in the Pinar del Rioprovince, enjoy the quieter, slower pace of rural Cuba in the pretty country side hugging the Cordillera de Guaniguanico mountains. At Vinales, you can go horseback riding to admire the strange mogote mounds and explore the caves.

The Flora numbers no less than 8.1(00 varieties, Dense sub-tropical forest cover the humid lower mountain slopes, providing valuable timber products. Woods on the higher, drier slopes are principally pine and eucalyptus. The island boasts an astonishing assortment of palm trees, the best known being the royal palm, indigenous to Cuba.

There is a lot more to see and do in Cuba other than this few interesting places. The options are immeasurable for your holidays to Cuba. Keep reading as much as you can about Cuba so that you can get the most out of your Cuba holidays.

Cuba Holidays. Facts and places to see.

By Jose Mauricio Maurette

Planning a Cuban holiday? Excellent, this is one island in the Caribbean where you will want to do more than just a beach holiday. The people are bright, self-assertive and handsome. The heritage of Cuba is so rich as are the monuments and palaces throughout the country. A Cuban Holiday is without a doubt one to consider.

These are just some of the facts to consider and places and things you should not miss in your holidays to Cuba.

According to official census figures, 70 per cent of Cubans are white, 12 per cent black, most of them in Oriental provinces, and 17 per cent mixed (mestizo and mulatto). It is generally agreed, however, that the percentage of "mixed blood" is much higher, perhaps as much as half the population. (The island's Caribbean Indians were almost totally wiped out under Spanish colonization.).

Cayo Coco boasts 21 km (13 miles) of impeccable white sandy beaches with first-class facilities for water sports. Flamingos and pelicans strut along the coast, and the interior is covered by dense forest. Casasa on the northeast coast offers excellent opportunities for deep-sea fishing.

Caressed by the prevailing north east trade winds, the island's climate is agreeably sub-tropical, most often around 25C (77F), rising to an average 28C (82F) in July and August and "dipping" to 22C (71F) in the coolest month, February. The east, especially the mountains, gets more rain than the west. The hurricane season is from June to November, most likely in September and October and more often in the west around Havana and Pinar del Rio than in the east. Storm winds can reach 250 kph (156 mph). Swimmers take note: Caribbean waters are slightly warmer than the Atlantic.

The island's population is just over 11,000,000 and a fifth of them is living in Havana, the largest city in the Caribbean-in addition to some 700,000 exiles, mostly in Miami. Other major cities are Santiago de Cuba (440,000), Camagiiey (294,000) and Holguin (242,000).

There is a lot more to see, know and do in Cuba other than this few interesting places and facts. Hundreds of beautiful beach and city locations can not be put in just one article. The last advice is to keep researching so that you can enjoy your holidays to the fullest.

Considering holidays in Cuba? Excellent, this is one island in the Caribbean where you will want to do more than just a beach holiday. The people are bright, self-assertive and handsome. The heritage of Cuba is so rich as are the monuments and palaces throughout the country. A holiday to Cuba is something you should really consider in your agenda.

These are just some of the facts to consider and places and things you should not miss in your holidays to Cuba.

Crime:Cuba is much safer than other Latin American countries-and many places in North America. Pickpockets, however, work the tourist areas of Havana and the resort towns. A much sought- after item is your passport, so keep it well-protected. Street-corner hustlers (jineteros) are an in evitable offshoot of tourism and economic difficulties, but beggars and anyone else that hassles you can be shooed off with a calm "Por favor, no moleste "- "Please, don't bother me."

Isla de Ia Juventud: Part of the Canarreos archipelago, the island lies at the southern mouth of the Golfo de Bataban, 100 km (60 miles) from the main land and a 40-minute flight from Havana. Covering an area of 3020 sq km (1,165 sq miles), it has variously been a refuge for Siboney Indians, who left some of the finest cave-paintings in the Caribbean, hideout for pirates and penitentiary for political prisoners. It derives its modern name, Island of Youth, from Castro's ambitious programme in the 60s and 70s to bring thousands of young Cubans-and foreigners -to study and work the citrus plantations. Columbus called it El Evangelista. For Scottish nov elist Robert Louis Stevenson, inspired by stories of Francis Drake, John Hawkins and Henry Morgan who moored their pirate ships along the west coast, it became Treasure Island. The Spanish colonists knew it as Isla de Pinos (Isle of Pines). Both Jos Marti and Fidel Castro were imprisoned here.

Caf Cantante night Club in Havana: There are no frills here, and the prices are more modest, but the performance of Havana's most celebrated son and salsa groups such as Los Van Van and Charanga Habanera make this club in the basement of the national theatre a favourite nightspot for young Cubans. You may have to compete with long queues of Habaneros to get in, but it is well worth it for the high-octane ambience. Whether there is a concert or disco, people are dancing non stop.

Parisien in Havana: The opulent cabaret is located in the hotel whose guests once ranged from Winston Churchill to Ava Gardner-and several less savoury but equally renowned American mafiosi such as Meyer Lansky. Before the Revolution, Frank Sinatra sang here. Today, you can enjoy a splashy floor- show, smaller in scale than the Tropicana (and priced more modestly), but just as lively, and then launch into your own salsa, rumba and mambo when the dance- floor is opened to disco music.

The list of places to visit and things to do goes on and on. The choices are countless for your Cuba holidays. The last advice is to keep researching so that you can enjoy your holidays to the fullest.

Scottish Castles: Balmoral

By Angus MacLeod

Tourism is now one of Scotland's most important industries and each year more and more visitors spend time in the country for a multitude of reasons. While Edinburgh seems to have a festival for every week of the year but most visitors are most excited to visit the castle. At times Scotland appears to be a nation of castles (which is understandable when you consider it's turbulent past) and a great many are open to the public. Balmoral Castle is a 5 star visitor attraction at Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

In 1603, when the thrones of Scotland and England were united, it seemed as though the Royal Family lost all interest in Scotland in preference to it's richer, southern, neighbor. It was not until 1822 that interest was generated by the famous author Sir Walter Scott when he arranged a visit for King George IV. The "one and twenty daft days", as it became known, was full of pageantry which included many embellishments of Scott's romantic ideas of medieval Scotland.

Sir Walter Scott's novels included very romantic ideas about Scotland which proved extremely influential upon society of the day. Queen Victoria was keen to visit Scotland and in 1842 she and Prince Albert decided to stay on the Balmoral Estate where George IV had stayed twenty years previous. Built in 1390 it had belonged to number of earls through the decades, and, at one time, King Robert II of Scotland had had a hunting lodge there. Following favorable reports from their doctor, Sir James Clark, it was hired sight unseen.

Although the property in which they stayed in at Balmoral was rather small (it had rooms much smaller than those they were used to) the pair quickly fell in love with the place. They spent many vacations there taking country walks together and, in 1852, Prince Albert bought the whole estate for about 30,000.

Over the years the Royal Family grew and while Albert still managed to enjoy his shooting, and Victoria her country walks, it was apparent that the residence was becoming far too small to accommodate them. It was decided that a new residence was required which was to be designed by William Smith, and architect from Aberdeen, and named Balmoral Castle. The castle was built quickly and was completed in 1856.

Since Prince Albert purchased the estate it has remained the private property of the British Royal Family distinctly separate from the royal estate. As well as Balmoral Castle the, fully working, estate consists of over 100 buildings and 50,000 acres of land. It is also Queen Elizabeth II's summer retreat.

Balmoral Castle had witnessed some momentous personal moments in the history of the royal family. Of course Victoria and Albert had many happy memories and this was, most probably, the main reason why she spent so much time there following the death of Albert in 1861. In 1997 Queen Elizabeth II was heavily criticized in the British press for staying there rather than returning to London following the death of Diana the Princess of Wales. The 2006 movie "The Queen" highlighted this tragic period superbly and went some way in explaining her behaviour.

While the royal family can certainly afford the finest vacations it seems strange that they choose to visit what many would consider, rather plain places. There is a strong feeling towards Scotland and the current royal family often visit such remote Scottish places as the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. But it is the castle at Balmoral which we most associate with the royal family and their private times together.

Tips when Visiting Alicante Spain

By Ray Walberg

There are many different sights to see in Benidorm and in the Costa Blanca. Benidorm itself is a very popular tourist attraction, it is located 45km to the east of Alicante. During the summer the city has a very active and vibrant night life. There are around 1000 restaurants and 30 discos, which means there?s plenty for everyone to do! Lots of tourists from all over Europe visit this area for their vacation.

Things you will want to see in the Costa Blanca and Benidorm

When you visit Benidorm you will almost certainly want to visit the Castle of Conde de Alfax. This has fantastic dinner shows that have knights fighting on horses. You can back whichever knight you want to throughout the show. The fighting knights have swords, spears and shields. A medieval style dinner is also served during the show. There are many different types of food available, including pork ribs, soup, potatoes, roast chicken, bread. There are also some fantastic drinks such as beer, and my personal favorite Sangria.

Another fantastic place to spend your night is the Benidorm palace. This puts on a floor show on most days of the week. This is a fantastic show, with multiple forms of entertainment, including singing, dancing, magicians and comedians.

By far the most popular attractions in the city are the beaches, this is true during the day at least. This can also be said for most of the Costa Blanca. If you want to visit a popular beach then you might want to look at the Playa de Poniente. This beach is popular because it is located on a main road and gets lots of passing traffic. If you want to relax on a beach then you will want a quieter beach, an ideal beach is the Playa de Levante. This beach is much more relaxing beach because it is located well off the beaten track.

Visiting Theme Parks in Costa Blanca and Benidorm

A very popular water park in Benidorm is Aqualandia Park. This has many swimming pools and waterslides throughout the park. It has rides which are suitable for young and old kids alike. The adventureland area is very popular with younger children as there are gentler slides, pools and fountains.

Another very well known and popular theme park in Benidorm is the Terra Mitica. This theme park has an Ancient history theme and is very popular with teenagers. This is a very good place to visit because all of the food is based on recipes taken from ancient civilizations throughout time. You will also find many souvenirs related to ancient civilizations

If you like water parks then you might also want to check out the Mundomar Aquatic Park. This s a great place to take families as they teach you about marine animals. There are seals and sea lions which are trained to perform to the public.

Mundomar also has a children?s park which has swings, slides, nets, ramps and bridges. There are also some climbing walls which are entertaining for the kids. Children will really enjoy visiting this park as they get to see dolphins swimming under the water through glass walls.

Key West Florida Lodging

By Mikey West

Key West lodging has a few luxury resorts, a few relatively cheap places, and a lot of places priced between those. Since it is a very popular vacation city, you may find the room rates to be high compared to what you are used to paying. Rates are even higher in the winter.

There are several Key West hotels and resorts with one hundred or more rooms. At those you will find a nice beach, large swimming pools and spas, and dining rooms on the property. The largest such place is the Casa Marina Resort, which has over 300 rooms and suites. Familiar names like Doubletree, Sheraton, Westin and Hyatt are present.

The next group of hotels have fewer than a hundred rooms but still offer you many amenities. The major brand in this size is Hyatt.

You can find some pleasant surprises among the Key West hotels with less than fifty rooms. You probably are not familiar with the Gardens Hotel, the Santa Maria Suites, the Sunset Key Guest Cottages and the Marquesa Hotel. They are fabulous.

Key West hotels include the familiar national brands costing you less for a room. Courtyard, Fairfield Inn and Suites, Travelodge, Days Inn and Best Western are just a few among the many.

You'll find some discount rates at smaller non-franchise hotels and motels that don't carry a national name you know. Not being franchisees, they can set their own standards of service and cleanliness. Probably some of them are suitable. I have not stayed in any don't choose to name any. You could be a winner.

Bed and breakfast facilities are all over Key West. As the name says, your stay includes a daily breakfast, which usually is continental but could be a full one. The number of rooms is smaller than in the hotels and the rooms vary in styles. You might have to share a bathroom with others. An owner or manager will give you personal service.

The Key West Youth Hostel is alone in its category. You'll find the cheapest rates in town. You will receive a bed in a large room and access to a common bathroom and kitchen. If it matters, be advised that no alcoholic beverages are allowed.

City Vacationers Should Learn About Ecotourism

By Peter Wilson

For some, there is one question that is uncomfortable when asked. For a few, this question is even disturbing because it threatens the positive impact that ecotourism can have on the tourism industry and on the world environment. But some have asked the question nonetheless: Is ecotourism becoming a problem, or is it almost entirely beneficial?

There is a large segment of the population that knows little or nothing about the concept of ecotourism. The members of this segment of society generally participate in more traditional mass/recreation tourism, basing their travels in a city and giving no thought to the natural resources that are being exploited. There is, however, a portion of the world population that is quite aware of the ecotourism concept and they want to understand the idea more fully so they can decide for themselves if this segment of the tourism industry is a good thing or a bad thing.

It might be wise to begin with a fundamental understanding of ecotourism. Only then can the thought process move on to whether it is a good influence or a negative influence on the resources and cultures of the planet.

Those who take part in ecotourism travel to a selected destination so that they can experience the culture, wildlife and scenery the site has to offer. Most ecotourism participants are committed, socially conscious individuals who want an adventure that involves preserving resources and even restoring some of the areas to their natural state. Ecotourism gives travelers the opportunity to grow personally, through an experience that cannot be duplicated.

Ecotourism has its roots in the idea of individual travelers being socially, culturally and environmentally informed so that they can avoid having a negative impact on their surroundings. In addition, these travelers try to enhance the integrity of destinations and encourage the traditional cultures of local populations.

With this type of individual involved, can ecotourism really be a problem for the globe and its inhabitants? Some would say that this is not the case, because the vision of ecotourism is to help eliminate pollution and to celebrate diversity in nature and culture. Such actions can only be good for tourism as a whole, some would argue. If tourists walk, with backpacks, instead of driving, ecotourists would ask, isn't that a positive impact?

There are some, however, who find that ecotourism is becoming a problem for others who enjoy nature. For example, some lifelong scuba divers are encountering a growing number of beginning divers who take to the sea because they feel they should enjoy and celebrate the magnificent aquatic life in our oceans. These experienced divers sometimes draw criticism from ecotourism proponents who believe that human beings should not scuba dive because it disturbs the natural flow and rhythm of the ocean dwellers. I took one such trip to alicante, Spain last summer.

Most clear-thinking individuals will come to their own conclusions, based on experiences within the ecotourism or mass tourism fields. For most, however, ecotourism is not a problem, because these individuals believe the activity is beneficial. There may be no clear-cut answer in this ongoing debate.

Ecotourism: Opinions Shouldn't Vary On Awareness Issue

At the heart of any discussion about the environment and the preservation of natural resources, one must now ask why ecotourism is important. There may be several parts to the answer, not the least of which is that the combination of travelling and environmental issues creates awareness of some critical issues before us in the 21st century.

Opinions vary, but awareness may be the missing piece in a puzzle that bothers us and intrigues at the same time. Take for example, the formerly beautiful Delaware River. Over the course of decades, the damage to this stream became nearly irreversible. Some pointed to public apathy, while others stated that most people were simply not aware there was a problem.

Eventually the sad and dangerous condition of the river caused a great public outcry. At first, there was nothing to be done but prevent further pollution, because the damage had been done, so to speak. It became clear that the general public had not been aware of the severity of damage. No government or private agency had taken the lead in educating the populace.

At one time, the Delaware River was a clear, navigable stream filled with diverse aquatic life. Travelers made the banks of this river a holiday destination, where they could sit in the sun, try their hand at fishing or even swim in the clear waters. Boating was a common activity on the Delaware River, in the early years.

But, as the saying goes, that was yesterday, and yesterday is gone. Fifty years ago, hundreds looked to the Delaware River for a brief respite from everyday life. Sadly, this is no longer the case. Pollution in incredible amounts has killed the animal life, destroyed vegetation and eliminated the once-thriving tourism activity surrounding the stream. In turn, the local economy suffered as well.

Unfortunately, the damage didn't stop at the Delaware River's banks. Pollutants from the larger stream travelled to small tributaries, destroying much of the plant and animal life there as well. While this is just one example of the negative effects of pollution, it is a great example of how lack of awareness leads to irreversible situations. With this in mind, we must ask why ecotourism is important. The simple answer is that this new way of looking at travel and tourism can be the vehicle for public awareness. Those who experience some of the most beautiful places in the world, places that have unmatched natural resources and cultures, can pass the word along about preserving these treasures. Ecotourism is much more than a trend within the tourism industry. It is also a key to maintaining our planet as a place to live and enjoy.

From this basis, the larger population can be informed about the importance of conservation efforts. Without this awareness it will be difficult, if not impossible, to put together an effective movement to preserve and protect our natural resources. In just a few short years, the ecotourism movement has already been key in keeping the environmental momentum alive and well. For many, taking part in this new field of ecotourism is not a matter of leisure and enjoyment alone. It is also a commitment to the global society and to the natural world.

A Homestay Offers A Welcome Change

By Justin Bryent

Everybody's working for the weekend. Everybody wants a little romance. . and why is that? Because they need a break! Some are ready to blow this town, and some are ready to skip to another country for a break. Would it be helpful if you already knew somebody there? You bet. What about yourself? Have you ever considered having somebody come stay with you from somewhere else? A homestay is where somebody travels, and just like it sounds, and that staying in somebody's home, maybe yours.

You may have one or two unused rooms in your house that could accommodate guests on a regular basis. Plus, you get to choose the schedule, and when that big bucket of money overflows you can make plans for a homestay somewhere else, maybe even with people you already met at your home.

If you live in North America, you're in luck. Over one third of all home stays are in North America. California, Washington DC, and Canada are all very popular destinations for home stays. And even though homestays are a bargain price for travelers, they still make for a very nice additional income at home.

Being a homestay host gives you the opportunity to meet people from other places and at the same time learn about other cultures. There are homestay's in over 30 countries. This gives you the opportunity to experience people from different cultures as well as learn about their land before you even plan to visit. In some cases you may end up staying with people who have already visited with you. There is a tremendous benefit to staying in a household with people who know the local area, and the local activities.

A good percentage of homestay travel involves students. Students sometimes will use homestay is as an exchange program with students in other countries, or it can just be a source of inexpensive housing. You may have found yourself too busy to host a foreign exchange student in the past, but today students of all ages are looking for good housing and you get to pick the schedule for yourself.

Mature students also travel to other countries and want to enjoy the benefits of staying with a family rather than in student housing. Considering all the economic benefits that come from staying in a place that has its own kitchen, good access to transportation and first hand local information on inexpensive services, home stay's for students are a great bargain whilst still providing a very nice income for you.

I am sure you can imagine the safety benefits that come from staying with somebody who has lived in the area for a while. They know the best ways to get around, and the best areas to visit.

Nearly everyone is looking for ways to make more money to cover the monthly bills. As a homestay host you have the advantage of being able to create an income for your family as well as lowering the cost for your own vacation abroad. Likely as you learn about new places to be tempted to pre-plan your next couple years of vacations.

All you need is a sense of adventure, an extra room or two in her house, and desire to travel the world without breaking the bank and I am sure you look into the idea of being a homestay host.

Big Island Waterfalls

By Lena Hellsten

Like many of the islands of Hawaii, the Big Island hosts a number of marvelous waterfalls. Most of the waterfalls are located on the south east side of the island, in the area around Hilo and further south towards the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

One of the most most visited and probably most stunning of them all is Akaka Falls. This 420 foot waterfall is found north of Hilo and to get there you do about a half mile hike, through lush rain forest.

On your way up the trail to Akaka you will encounter the smaller, gorgeous waterfall named Kahuna. These two waterfalls, along with the beauty of the trail makes this hike one of you best picks for an extraordinary nature experience. Because of its easy access it's also great if you don't have much time but still want to get in touch with some beautiful landmarks of the Big Island.

On the north side of the island you find Waipi'o Valley. Here you find a lot of cascading waterfalls along the sides of the valley together with nature that is so lush it has an almost magical feel to it.

The valley can be reached by car and it's possible to get a pretty good view from it. It's well worth the effort though to get out of the car and do a bit of hiking. There are hundreds of waterfalls here, and one of the most loved one is called Hi'ilawe. You can easily spend a day or more in this sacred valley.

Near Hilo is another spectacular waterfall, called Rainbow Falls. It drops about 80 feet into a huge pool of turquoise water. This waterfall is easy to get to, simply a short drive from Hilo and you can drive all the way upfront to it. To get the most stunning view of the falls, get there early in the morning and take a hiking trail for a few minutes and watch the sun rise over the lush rain forest surrounding this gorgeous waterfall.

At the World Botanical Garden, a bit further north of Hilo, you find Uma Uma Falls. The garden is quite new and has conserved a lot of the wildness of this area. The waterfall is made up by three levels, pouring into three tranquil pools and being surrounded by lava stones and lush nature. A truly beautiful sight.

If you're visiting this remarkable island, you definitely don't want to miss out on viewing some of its amazing waterfalls. The ones here are some of the best picks and can contribute in making your Hawaii vacation a very special time.

What you need to know about Parking at Manchester Airport

By Craig Walker

For regular travellers a flight from Manchester and car parking go hand in hand and they will know all the best parking options and where to get the best prices and who has the best service. They don't pay more than they need to for their parking and why should you.

It is usually better to pre-book you car parking at one of the car parks before you leave as the online and pre-booking rates are better than if you just turn up on the day. The car parks do fill up at certain times of the year.

There are quite a few car park companies that operate around Manchester Airport and in most cases provide a free shuttle service to and from the terminal buildings. Choosing the best car park could depend on the direction you are travelling from. There is no point in driving past a car park to drive further to get to another one.

The most convenient option is to book a meet and greet service with your parking. This will mean you and your party will be met and taken to the car park without having to wait on anyone else. As soon as you arrive at the front of the terminal you will be taken to the car park to collect your car. This service costs a bit more but for some people it is more than worth it.

You can treat your car whilst you are away as most of the car parks can arrange to have your car washed or even a full valet. If some instances you can have your car fully serviced whilst you are away. Simply ask about the services before you arrive as you may have to book in advance.

There are of course car parks next to the airport and these can also be booked online prior to your arrival. This also makes sure you get a parking space during busy periods but also the best prices. You can usually get to the terminal within a few minutes and the journey is all under cover so you will not get wet if it is raining.

Generally you will be asked to leave your car keys so that they can move your car out of the way whilst you are away and have it ready for you upon your return. If you are worried about leaving your house keys don't, simply give them your car key.

Simply by booking ahead and a simple bit of planning you can make the journey to the airport a bit smoother and hassle free. Remember to leave extra time if you are driving during the busiest times so you are not late. Booking online is safe and easy and your parking reservation can be made in a few minutes.

Cyprus Renal Villas Guide

By Tim Martins

Cyprus has been in the travel shows quite a lot recently and appears to be turning into the leading European holiday destination. There is a lot to be learned from these TV programs and the leading accommodation in this beautiful island are the Cyprus rental villas with an amazing 24 hour a day customer service. High quality and location seem to be the appealing factors and you are also given the choice between villas or apartments.

The great thing about Cyprus is that you don't have to struggle communication wise as virtually the whole island speaks English, and if you are from the UK they also drive on the left hand side of the road, though it sounds a bit dangerous to me. The popularity of the island is without a doubt down to the quality of the Cyprus rental villas. There are also low budget Cyprus rental villas with the same high standards and they are all positioned amongst the most beautiful surroundings I have ever seen. There are plenty of places to visit that you will just fall in love with. Getting started with finding your Cyprus Rental villas can be done by viewing a couple of "Cyprus" free information web sites that come highly ranked with Google.

The range of Cyprus rental villas can be found all over the island but for me the most memorable area of Cyprus would be the Coral Bay Villas which are found right by the ocean, so it is an ideal location for all you water sport lovers.

Are you just fed up with all the hustle and bustle that's going on around you in your day to day life? You are, well you definitely need a bit of Cyprus and especially one of the special retreat villas where you couldn't even hear a pin drop. You will fall in love immediately with tranquility that awaits you and Cyprus will help you feel happy again, which really is what having a holiday is all about really.

For those of you who like to escape the cruel winter months in the UK there are some amazing luxury villas with heated swimming pools in some really quaint areas such as Pervolia and Kato Paphosup. The villas also provide for large gardens that will guarantee you a holiday with complete privacy. There is also a really testing golf course on the Secret Valley Resort which comes highly recommended and make sure you hire a car with GPS to avoid missing your tee off time. I hope that my guide will help you achieve a problem from holiday in Cyprus and that you live the same experiences that I did.

These takes would inform others about how great the catches were (impressive halibut) and it will also state about how people tend to think that it is so weird, since it is the furthest state next to Hawaii. However, you will find that it is the ocean view and adventures that Alaska offers that keeps people coming back. Airplane Charter

By Eric Airplane

Corporate air charter was the beginning of today's air charter industry. Currently, airplane charter is the first choice of many other people. Sports teams, entertainers and business executives use it on a regular basis. Now private air charter is used for such purposes as freight, cargo, air ambulance and organ donation.

This method of flying is known by additional names, such as executive charter, air taxi and jet charter. It is all the same thing, no matter how you choose to refer to it.

This is a less expensive way to get a lot of the benefits airplane owners have. There are a few alternatives. The usual alternative is on demand charter. That alternative is a simple pay as you fly system. As the flight's charterer, you contract for the plane to transport you from one location to another. You will pay for your flight either before taking off or after landing. Today air charter providers have different rates, so you can save some money if you compare the prices. You could make your flight reservation through one of your local operators or through one of the national air charter brokers.

Jet cards are another option. They serve as flight debit cards. First you need to put down a couple of hundred thousand dollars. After you do so you will get to fly on a certain type of airplane for a predetermined number of flight hours. If you do not use all of your flight hours by their expiration date, they will expire or you will get a refund for your unused balance.

Fractional ownership programs also have become popular. With those you will own an interest in an airplane or a type of aircraft, along with a few other people. The shared aircraft are owned by the air charter companies. Those companies will maintain the airplanes and provide the pilots, flight crews and catering for you.

With fractional ownership you buy an exact share of the aircraft. Your share will vary from 1/16 to 1/2. Your share entitles you to usage for a set number of flight hours. The minimum usually is 50 hours per year. You also will be paying for each flight hour, along with fuel costs and any flight fees.

Modern jet air charter planes come in all shapes and sizes. The largest jet planes are known as the heavy jets. Yes, there are additional jets that are medium jets and light jets. The very smallest jet is the very light jet, which is known as the VLJ. But if even the VLJ jets cost more than you can afford, there is the possibility of fractional ownership of a single-engine piston airplane as an alternative.

If you plan a shorter trip, then a helicopter charter might be right. The aircraft charter service has grown rapidly in recent years with the vast spread of the Internet. Now the information on the locations and availability of different aircraft is accessible nationally. Instead of your having just a few yellow pages choices, you now can go online or can let one of the air charter brokers find a flight for you.

Latest Cheap Airfare Review

By Daisy Beverly

Exploring several methods to obtain cheap airfare should be at the top of the list of anyone planning a trip for the summer or anytime of the year. You must however admit one thing about cheap airfare and it's the menace known as cheap airfare as embodied by constant overbooking of flight seats and which is now accepted as the norm.

Do you know that such situation provide a good opportunity to get discounted airfare? This is the way to go about it- call the travel agent or airline in question 24 hours before your departure and make inquiries regarding the flight; this is the foolproof way to determine if it's overbooked or not.

If your flight is overbooked, then you must swing fast into action and ensure you get to the airport well ahead of time in order to be at the head of the line!

Because airlines are legally obligated to ask for volunteers before dropping passengers, you should volunteer to be dropped, but only after being given a discounted airfare. The moment you get the concession, go right ahead and invoke what most airline staff are very conversant with; rule number 240 which states that the next available flight should be yours.

An alternative method to get cheap airfare is by frequent browsing of the special offers area on the websites of airlines prior to booking flights; the chances of finding attractive discounted airfare here is very high.

A third strategy you can use to get cheap airfare and turn an otherwise costly fare into a cheap one is by selecting various major airports that are close to your destination. One good example is to go for New York's JFK airport if you are dropping off finally in Montreal; even though the two cities are separated by a couple of hours drive, the money you will save is worth the trouble.

Sympathy Flowers That Last Longer

By Amy Nutt

When it comes to a funeral, there`s nothing worse than flowers that are wilting around the casket during the ceremony. You want to purchase floral arrangements that are going to last long after the service and that will brighten the gravesite for days to come. However, it can be difficult to find the appropriate floral arrangement for this purpose . . . flowers that look good and last a long time, without being bright or cheery for the occasion.

Finding the right flowers that will last for a good long time can be difficult. Some of the most beautiful flowers are quite delicate, but here are a few guidelines to help you choose the perfect funeral flowers.

Thicker Flowers: Thin, delicate petals lose moisture quickly and will wilt away before the memorial service is over. Instead, when choosing funeral flowers, look for ones with thicker, fleshy petals that can withstand heat and won`t wilt for quite some time. Some good choices within this range include carnations, marigolds, and dahlias, as well as lilies, which are a very elegant sympathy flower. Lilies will last for a very long time and are ideal for funerals, particularly when combined with other flowers to add a softer touch. Birds of paradise can last up to a couple of weeks and just the name makes them quite fitting for a memorial.

Full Flowers: Often you`ll find that fuller flowers don`t wilt as quickly. While beautiful and available in an array of colors, mums, dahlias and pom poms tend to last a very long time without wilting.

Flowers on Branches: Generally speaking, blooms that come multiples to a stem or on a branch will last for quite some time, sometimes even months. Peruvian lilies are a good example of multiple flowers on a stem, while apple or cherry blossoms create a long lasting bouquet that is truly one-of-a-kind and may be particularly appropriate for children`s funerals.

Standard Issue: There are some oldies, but goodies that just don`t give up the ghost too early. Flowers like carnations and daisies tend to last a lot longer than the average cut flower and you can expect these beautiful blooms to be cheaper as well. They can be found in a variety of colors, making these standard issue flowers the ideal ones for a small funeral bouquet. A gathering of dark red or blue carnations or a handful of darker colored daisies can be the best flower arrangement to remember a friend or loved one.

Flowers to Avoid for Funeral Arrangements

There are some flowers that are simply not up to staying perky and fresh for long. While beautiful, they won`t last and are seldom worth the money paid. You want flowers that can be set up at the gravesite and enjoyed for more than a few hours.

Flowers to avoid include the more delicate flowers such as forget-me-nots and roses. Irises are far too delicate to stand up to a funeral and won`t last long enough to be taken out of the funeral home.

Choosing sympathy flowers for a funeral is delicate business. While you want something that will do the service justice, it is also important to select long-lasting flowers that will bloom for several days or even a couple of weeks.

When in doubt, it`s a good idea to ask your florist which flowers they recommend. Professionals will be able to give you an estimate on how long each bouquet is likely to last and they can also suggest appropriate colors for the situation. However, the tips above should give you a good idea of which flowers to select.

Planning Your International Travel

By John Q. Harris

International travel opens your mind to the diversity of humanity and foreign travel is no longer only in the realm of the wealthy. It is not as if you need to be rich anymore either as a good deal of the arrangements can be made online, and discounts can be had if you are willing to travel out of the normal peak seasons.

You'll find the cheapest fares in winter and if you're traveling to Italy or Spain, this can be a plus and with mild winter temperatures you can be really adventurous and footloose. When carrying out your online research, look for people that rent out their own apartments and homes perhaps for a shorter time which may mean it will be less expensive than through other travel agencies

There is no need to think that you will suffer without facilities like the internet, fully equipped kitchens, telephone either. Of course making use of the kitchen will save some money if you have your breakfast there every morning before you spend the day exploring the local sights.

By having the facility to wash and iron you clothes you can save more money on having them professionally laundered and greetings cards can be sent for no charge over the internet. Experiencing a different culture is a great adventure and it's the little things that really reach out and grab you; for example, European society is similar in many ways to American society but daily priorities are quite different.

For instance, in Europe, meals are much more of an occasion for family and friends to get together and socialize with each other, something that isn't really done in America. Try new things; walk around your neighborhood and discover the bookstore, grocer, hardware, night club or restaurant and neighborhood businesses reflect the tempo of life in your chosen destination. When in a foreign country a real international traveler will make sure that national and local dishes are eaten in typical restaurants or tavernas like Italian pizza or Greek Kleftiko. Finding your way around without a guide and just enjoying the experience for what it is, is the sign of an international traveler; one who will explore an unfamiliar city using their local transport systems and making the most of the visit.

Traveling light has many advantages and if you can do this it will save a great deal of time and there is less likelihood of lost or damaged luggage if you only have a carry on. This of course means that to do this efficiently, it is good idea to carry everything you need for the trip in a carry on, which will make things simpler; no lost luggage or waiting around the luggage carousel at the airport. It just means that you have to carefully plan what you will need to take and what you can buy at your destination, like toiletries for instance, which means if you can't fit it into the carry on, you can buy it later. Travel does not have to be about huge luggage filled suitcases as truly adventurous travelers know.
